The difference is using the sum of all the certifications, vs. the unique tracks that have been certified.

lol Beyoncé's humble place in the industry? Meanwhile there are legitimate line-ups to meet her when she attends the Grammys. We should consider that legends and one's "place" has little overall to do with sales and more to do with how people perceive the artist and the importance of their career. Not a single non-fan knows how much the Beatles sold, nor do they care.

Taylor must really love Beyoncé. Once again, she's holding back her real numbers by not updating certifications, just like she withheld her Eras Tour numbers to give Beyoncé a chance to be number one for over a year. And, just like with the Eras Tour, the real numbers are far beyond what's "official" right now.

It's time to accept that your faves will always be #2 behind Taylor.

To have the most certifications implies that there are more certifications.

 

As I already stated: using Most Certified and Most Certifications can imply different things, and thus make the thread title vague, not lying.

Yes I wish the OP just asked WHY without addressing it to a fanbase. That is ONLY going to set it up for unnecessary fights and petty remarks.

Though it is funny to read people remind us that you need to certify your work in order to get certifications, despite the fact that this never stoped anyone from telling us that Beyoncé doesn't have a diamond single. Still, I don't like to paint broad strokes and attribute entire fanbases for doing so, so best to just remind people broadly how Beyoncé had been treated prior.
