silli Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) That was very prophetic of her to name the debut "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess" Girl, give us a break please Edited 7 hours ago by silli
Johnny Jacobs Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago She's the most self sabotaging artist of all time. Stfu or quit. You ain't special.
R.E.M. Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago her assuming she's going to win is giving Nicki "I know in my career I'm gonna have Grammys" don't count the chicks before they're hatched 2 3

Again, many before her have worked just as hard to get into the industry without an in. People will come after, who will get in. She is not a unique case of success. Her journey was no different compared to other artists. Her hard work is admirable. Her story isn't unique. She didn't say her story was unique. But in a way, it is. I'm not even a Chappell stan and I can recognize it's not the most common thing to be a lesbian artist in your late 20s blowing up after ten years of grinding as a small musician. And I'd argue every artist has had its own unique journey, anyway. Denying that to her is giving bitter. Edited 7 hours ago by ChooseyLover 3

RoseBud Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago 31 minutes ago, Mezik said: That isn't the criticism. It's the fact she is acting as if she is the only one who's ever worked hard, without an in, to make it. And the truth is she isn't. There is no denying her perseverance, and hard work - but making the comment that she's worked so much harder than anyone else and she has been the only one to defy such tragic odds is annoying. You can acknowledge the hard work you did to get where you are without acting like you're the only one who's ever worked that hard. You made that up...she never said that. oh and get that promo Chappell ! 2
ALA Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Oh that's If she ever releases album 2 the quotes that will come out of that press cycle
Elementary Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Then why doesn't she just say it now? The entitlement to assume she's going to win and "threatening" to say something edgy is obnoxious.

Last Boy on Earth Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Yall are so boring. Finally someone bringing the entertainment
Rep2000 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago 1 hour ago, tost1 said: Being polite on that stage would be controversial for her Oops, clock that tea. Also, why is she so confident that she would win? A lot of more successful artists walked out of that night award-less. Sound like a self-set up so she can continue her "rage against the system" act later.
Pavement Princess Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Lol is she really that oppressed as a gay woman!!!? The music industry, and most of the entertainment industry, has been so much more welcoming to gay people. She's seen immense success in only her first era, and I don't think she hasn't worked hard for it, but to be this perpetual victim is so tired especially when you are THIS successful. I'd rather her thank and congratulate the people who helped open the doors for her than see her complain. 1
Trent W Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I mean she's right If I saw someone like Gracie buying her way to the top while she busted her ass for years and years Nepo babies are ruining the music industry I don't understand why she said it in advance tho
holyground13 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Some of y'all dragging her She's right - it's profound to have a lesbian women have such success all of a sudden. That should be celebrated and she does use her platform to stand up for smaller communities such as Palestine and the queer community at large. 2
