Gay Representation aside, which is always great.. she's thinking way too damn highly of herself. :rip:

There have been plenty of artists who have worked their ass off, without an in, that became successful. She has definitely worked hard, but she is not the only one..

The criticism is a bit forced towards her on this site. How many lesbians are on the top of your head that became as successful as her and nominated in such major categories? Not many, if any, right? There's nothing wrong with what she's saying.

girl that is not controversial in the slightest. the music industry and the arts in general have welcomed queer people.

you want to be controversial, get up on that stage dressed like this

and yell "I LOVE MAGA. I LOVE MAGA"

that's controversial nowadays.

Bold of her to assume she's winning, and a televised category.

Anyways, always get major Karen vibes from her whenever an interview pops up, but she is after all a white woman first and foremost.

She's within her rights to, but something about proclaiming it before doing it is extremely lame :rip:

That isn't the criticism.

It's the fact she is acting as if she is the only one who's ever worked hard, without an in, to make it. And the truth is she isn't.

There is no denying her perseverance, and hard work - but making the comment that she's worked so much harder than anyone else and she has been the only one to defy such tragic odds is annoying. You can acknowledge the hard work you did to get where you are without acting like you're the only one who's ever worked that hard.

She has no filter and I personally love it. Many of us pop stans have a similar perception of the GRAMMYs, they're a popularity contest and they're shady and ridiculous at times, but also they're objectively the most prestigious award for a musician. I like that she has the backbone to be sincere about that duality, and I guess what you perceive as cockiness I see it as an artist being able to recognize her own worth.

This forum will always say they want authentic and organic people, yet they react this way to someone so authentic. Personally, I'm tired of the fabricated Pop star. Let them speak their truth. You don't have to agree with everything she says, but let her be her and move on :rip:

It's not cockiness, she's ignorant.

Again, many before her have worked just as hard to get into the industry without an in. People will come after, who will get in. She is not a unique case of success. Her journey was no different compared to other artists.

Her hard work is admirable. Her story isn't unique.

Say it. Even if you leave empty handed you can still leave with a mouthful

sis, that is not what she means and you know it. She's not saying she's the first one that's done it or that she's worth more than the others for doing it, she's just saying she's proud of her achievements with all that could set her back in the first place and, personally, I think that's commendable
