Also puts that Madonna gig at the beach in Brazil into perspective. A 1 million crowd must have been insane. (this is not shade, just a random thought I had when I read the 10 million attendance over 150 shows)

This is the first time a woman has held the title for top grossing tour of all time and also the only the second tour by a female artist in the top 10 top grossing tours.  This is unprecedented.

People who are paid to assess live performances for a living consistently call her an incredible performer. ATRL can't stand that there's more to performing than hitting the highest notes or dancing in colorful wigs. Taylor's voice perfectly suites her music and is incredibly emotive. There's something singular about watching an artist sing the music she wrote herself. Her stage presence and ability to engage with and captivate an audience has lead directly to her being the most successful touring artist in history. 
 

While touring is huge right now no one else is touching her numbers either. She also was the first tour to gross 1 billion even adjusted for inflation. The culture might be helping some, but she did this specifically because she is Taylor Swift and the Eras Tour is the hottest ticket in history.

Historic. She and everyone else involved in Eras put so much hard work into it, they deserve to be proud.

What I love about this is that Taylor has so many female fans (particularly younger ones), and I'm so glad that something they love is this successful. Our culture often delegitimizes, mocks, or downright attacks young girls' interests. Remember the beating that Twilight got? 50 Shades of Grey? Rom-coms? Hell, anything that is aimed at women and girls gets dismissed, including Taylor herself. "Not real music", "frivolous", "girl music" (girl being the biggest pejorative). Funny how we don't do that to video games, superhero movies, The Beatles, Metallica, or Eminem.

 

So I think it's wonderful that so many women and girls got to have this experience in a huge stadium. I have no doubt that a lot of them felt seen, when they were at the concert. And that's important.

The Beatles were treated like that because in the 60s 90% of their fans were young women. Elvis too. History has shown how those young women knew what was good

I don't think it's doing anywhere close to half of it. She's not going to be touring for this long ever again
