truthteller Posted Saturday at 03:52 AM Posted Saturday at 03:52 AM Quote Manchester United scrapped plans to wear pride-themed warm-up jackets as part of the Premier League's Rainbow Laces campaign after defender Noussair Mazraoui refused to participate, citing his religious beliefs, according to The Athletic. Rainbow Devils, Manchester United's official LGBTQ+ supporters club, expressed their "great disappointment" after plans to wear the specially designed Adidas jackets before the match against Everton on Sunday were abandoned at the last moment. The Rainbow Devils had worked with United on a number of projects around inclusivity and the support of the LGBTQ+ community in the lead up to the club's official Rainbow Laces game at Old Trafford, but the group said they were informed that the jackets would not be worn because "one of the squad refused". The Athletic reported that Mazraoui, who is Muslim, declined to wear the warm-up tracksuit due to his faith and the rest of the United squad decided that no one would wear the jacket so the Morocco international would not be the only member of the team seen without it. The Athletic's report said some United players were not happy with the decision. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/manchester-united-noussair-mazraoui-rainbow-laces-lgbtq-b2658628.html

Invincibles Posted Saturday at 04:06 AM Posted Saturday at 04:06 AM It's unfortunate, but I guess it is what is is. Sam Morsy of Ipswich Town also didn't wear it due to his Islamic faith. Also, Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace wrote "I love Jesus" and "Jesus loves you" on his rainbow armband. When he was asked what it meant, he gave a BS answer about "it was about inclusivity". His dad (who's a pastor) said in an interview earlier today that it goes against their Christian faith, so that's why they couldn't support it. "If you look at what the LGBT community are doing, they are trying to impose on others what they believe in, it's belief against belief, but at the end of the day everyone has the right to an opinion" https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/guehi-father-rainbow-armband-crystal-premier-league-2024-b1197977.html

Popular Post DevilsRollTheDice Posted Saturday at 04:49 AM Popular Post Posted Saturday at 04:49 AM Religion truly refuses to budge from #1 on the all time chart of things that prevent the world from being a better place World's biggest source of hate, manipulation, war, division, etc. No self awareness, either. I always find it funny when religious people judge or make fun of "cults" or religions that are less mainstream. Mama, a cult behind you… 41 4
