It's so embarrassing lmao. We've all seen what happens when an anti-establishment candidate speaks too loudly against the powers that be. They're either primaried by powerful lobbies (see: Cori Bush getting decimated by AIPAC) or they allow themselves to get subsumed by the very same industries they once railed against. The scant few who stay in office while still railing against the status quo are just that: scant and few, too small a minority to effect much, if any, real change.

 

yes it's very sad that the current political and economic climate has led to actual bloodshed (and also quite sad that Luigi will likely pay quite the price for this), but, well, it was always going to lead to this eventually.
