Realistically what are the odds that they find him not guilty :gaycat4: I'm sure he used gloves and was careful not to leave fingerprints on the gun right? Plus that picture of him smiling was blurry!!

The trial (if it gets there) is going to be absolutely wild. The crowds outside are going to be like red carpet premiere with an A-list heartthrob.

A friend of his on CNN is confirming what another poster in here said that it was a surfing related back injury. Now what we need to find out more about is his disappearance over the past few months. This whole case is so enthralling ngl, him being hot is just a cherry on top

yes but to paint him as a drug addict for taking psychedelics is not it. drinking and going to the bar after work is seen as normal and no one calls those people drug addicts.

If he center right? as I read some of the stuff on his page, he seems more leftist than anything idk

As much as this is all producing totally understandable discourse about our increasingly dystopian, unequal, oppressive capitalist existence and the growing resentment towards plutocrats like the murdered CEO, this guy did shoot someone dead in broad daylight, so I don't think that he'd be totally coherent with his beliefs :rip:  I know the internet is having a kii kii and thirsting over him but at the end of the day this is someone who is profoundly disturbed and probably not all there mentally lbr.

Well, was center right before his back injury.

His injury was quite some time ago and he was retweeting Peter Thiel in June, sis.

He engages with a lot of manosphere adjacent content and grew up wealthy. I think calling him "right wing" is a little simple minded (socialized healthcare and environmentalism are pretty centrist positions) but he's certainly not a Marxist or anarcho-communist and seemingly consumes media that's more associated with the right than your average Democrat.

The way he is... the mythical centrist voter corporate Democrats scream about needing to find. :deadbanana2:

Weirdly incoherent constellations of scattered beliefs.

botched back surgery? How sad. My mom is permanently disabled due to a surgery so the frustration makes sense... but the CEO was still a person with a family. Now this guy will have to live in prison with a botched back.

Yeah, he went all over the map post-injury. My theory still holds on nihilism that his wealth no longer held in place after losing touch with his family.

He obviously wanted to get caught. You don't avoid police for three days and then sit down at mcdonalds with the gun you used to kill a ceo.

this is going to be HUGE for months yall. with the implications around the broken healthcare system in this country, it's a super compelling and resonant story for people all across the political spectrum. and he's going down, he killed a guy on the sidewalk in Midtown, which will only strengthen the support and sympathy for him

Oh, him being an Angel wasn't a joke:suburban:

meh, the CEO using AI to deny claims costing family lives. the CEO is very much a criminal himself. this whole situation is a prime example of what happens when society continues to allow capitalism to be unchecked. maybe if United Healthcare & the country provided actually mental health resources (which practically don't exist, unless your super rich), it would've turned out different.

I think you're both right.

From what we saw on his social media, there isn't much that is overtly coded as culturally conservative. His family seems to have largely lived in blue states despite some of his family being Republican officials and being wealthy. His aunt (?) that had him in her Facebook photo had a giant "GET VACCINATED <3" sticker on her photo.

It's like... Larry Hogan Republicanism. :rip:

See:  *believes in climate change being real* -> *yet RTs frustrations and sneering at 'the left' for being anti-nuclear for energy*

*retweets articles talking about how misogyny is real and can be harmful to women* -> *yet the same editorial says 'the left' makes boys hate themselves in how they speak of it*

I think the bigger point of why people may try to pin down his beliefs is that clearly the reality of healthcare made him snap and then what does that mean about who can progressives actually reach in attempting a populist message? He's not liberal coded at all but in the context of that your average straight man starts off as coded in anti-liberal media. That even your average cis straight male centrist who finds MAGA revolting is going to usually have a media ecosystem that many on the left and liberals view as conservative because we see how the pipeline usually goes, even when to many of these young men much of this media itself is apolitical and they don't view it as political/innately conservative. He just liked video games and fitness!

See also his comments finding both Jordan Peterson and Tucker Carlson overly emotional & illogical to the point of finding them both annoying.
