UHC is the 15th largest company in the world with a net profit last year of $22 billion dollars. They don't make anything. Under his leadership, they had a 33% claim denial rate. The policies implemented by him have caused pain, suffering, and yes, the death of thousands of people. Who paid for a service they were under the impression would protect them in their time of greatest need. So how is death caused by bureaucracy any different than murder?

 

They also lobby — pay — politicians to protect their industry. The reason the US doesn't have a single-payer universal healthcare system unlike every other modernized nation is because healthcare companies pay their politicians not to implement it.

That's why ordinary people like the user you quoted are happy to see a member of the wealthy ruling class — who profit from our misery, poverty and sickness — eat it in the street.

To many of us, the murder is justice. Whether you like it or not the gunman is seen as a hero to the eyes of people who have been beat down by the American healthcare system. When you have healthcare workers, patients, and people on all sides of the political spectrum cheering, a correct action was taken. 
 

And to those that say "well this isn't going to make a difference, vote". I say, take a look at the state of our political system, the view of many is that we have moved past the days of effective legislation. Have you all not seen the loud calls for "revolution" from both the left and the right? Many are saying this is just the beginning and based on the reaction to this, I'm inclined to agree.
