We've all seen what happens when an anti-establishment candidate speaks too loudly against the powers that be. They're either primaried by powerful lobbies (see: Cori Bush getting decimated by AIPAC) or they allow themselves to get subsumed by the very same industries they once railed against. The scant few who stay in office while still railing against the status quo are just that: scant and few, too small a minority to effect much, if any, real change. yes it's very sad that the current political and economic climate has led to actual bloodshed (and also quite sad that Luigi will likely pay quite the price for this), but, well, it was always going to lead to this eventually. 7 8

I'll be nice and say that in an ideal world, yes. but in reality, this is so full of false optimism. And you're thinking about his life from your perspective, not his. You think he is wasting his life, he doesn't. To him his life is already wasted. Plus you are expecting him, as a single person with chronic debilitating pain, to move mountains when during the last few voting cycles, its been shown time and time again that both parties will do anything to stop universal healthcare. Do you think its fair? 5
