It would be great for it to finally reach number 1 in the US for its 40th anniversary.

Gay King of Pop George Michael deserves this

He deserves to go #1 before Sabrina Carpenter starts smashing every holiday season with A Nonsense Christmas

All the disrespect to George Michael in this thread. None of your divas did a better version than him. :rip:

I agree. The 80s had some pretty good Christmas songs. Yeah they're very synth pop, but they're such a fun twist.

When Chappell Roan drops a Christmas song/album that will be a smash 40 years from now :jonnycat:

The real question is why hasn't Kelly's Underneath The Tree overtaken both of them yet

This might be a reach, but I wonder if Good Luck Babe's success brought it back into the discussion or made people look at it in a new light? Everyone was comparing the two songs when GLB first came out.

What?

Never heard LC but not shocked.

You've definitely heard it at least once. It's played in movies and TV shows so much

This generation's Christmas classic

UTT is great but it's essentially Kelly's attempt at having her own AIWFCIY, I don't think it's distinctive enough to become a true classic in its own right.

Mariah's song is such an absolute classic that other artists are afraid to cover it.
