Y'all people need to do more with your lives. Last Christmas is one of the most popular Christmas songs of all time and considering how overplayed AIWFCIY, this was bound to happen. 

Someday, even Santa Tell Me will be #1 and then people will go back to AIWFCIY again

I hope both songs manage to get some weeks at #1 this year, even if LC only gets one week. Both are deserving classics.

I've been ready for George to finally overtake Mariah and Brenda. In a way it's more interesting and listenable (outside of Xmas season) than all the others, and as a mid-tempo synth ballad it stands out among all the other Christmas classics which borrow from the same bombastic '50s-60s sound. 

 

The December charts will be a lot more exciting/less boring if it's actually a toss-up who will be #1 each week

Mariah is overplayed and will probably hit #1 again for a couple weeks

 

But lbr the overexposure of her and the track has been insane this season in the last few years
