If we're going that route then Single Ladies (#1 from Dec 2008- Jan 2009), I Am.. Sasha Fierce (#1 in November 2008), Obsessed (#1 Q1 2009) is valid too.

Oh it's kind of wierd.  It went number one for a tracking week in 2008 but the chart was not released until the following week in 2009.  Either way though sasha as you said didn't go number 1 that year.

It had 2 weeks at #1 in 2008 and then the first 2 weeks of 2009.

Thats the bilboard chart weeks which run a few weeks ahead of the actual date.  So the first two weeks of the bilboard year in 2009 were for the last two weeks of the calendar year in 2008.
