I don't known if Shawn was specifically meant to star with Gaga as fiyero. I think she was in talks to star at one point and he was in talks to star at another point. Either way if he was in talks with the cast they have now it would still take way too much suspension of disbelief to believe that Shawn mendes and Cynthia erivo/Ariana are the same age. Especially since Shawn would've been the only cast member that was actually around college aged when filming began it would be too jarring.

The way stan war'd fomos have no clue how the movie industry works. Lady Gaga was objectively praised for her role in JFAD.  Was it also Joaquin's fault that Napoleon lost $165 million at the box office? Stick to bickering about the Hot 100, movies clearly aren't your thing

I think Gaga could've also done a good job as Madame Morrible but Michelle Yeoh is the perfect casting choice.

I really don't give a **** what some of y'all have to say about this…she would've played the HELL out of Elphaba. Veteran liddos have been fan-casting her in that role since TMB came out when she spoke heavily how The Wizard of Oz inspired her shows (and literally, any of her tours/performances that have a storyline tend to be heavily based off of Oz). I would've loved to see this.
