Antisocialites Posted November 10 Posted November 10 yas Clairo MPG after that Grammy nom Immunity is a classic 1
CherryBay Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Yes they should only because sometime an interesting album cover will gain more attention from the public Few of my favourite albums of all time I listened only thank to their intriguing albums covers 1

"the entire thread talking about lana" being OP incorrectly using single covers in hopes of getting lana dragged in a thread about album covers also her single covers are much worse than her (recent) album covers, you're the one acting like this : is the same as this : 2 minutes ago, Kayseri Mantisi said: you guys were literally already talking and comparing Lana's single & album cover arts & i just posted an example? it's not like i randomly attacked her or something? sis pls, you were clearly trying to be messy (as usual) and got mad bc it backfired (as usual)
ariananext Posted November 10 Posted November 10 I don't mind simple artworks, they're better than the messy 2010s ones

Only backfiring thing is this dumb ass argument. OP was talking about Lana. You were talking about Lana. I was talking about Lana. Then suddenly you made it about an album cover at beach. Then someone else used the term "sex sells". Make it make sense. Stop using the words "as usual" too, because that's not the case. Also you're using alternative cover arts on your comparison which doesn't make sense, plus Ocean Blvd is also a lazy cover art, so I don't get what upgrade you're talking about there. I once again regret posting anything in this thread, let's just move on and you can act like I didn't post about Chemtrails Over The Country Club. Have a good day and be careful of the planes spraying chemtrails.

Burn Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Sure. As well as the ones in the OP I also though Sabrina's cover for Sweet n Sour was kinda lazy.
Helix Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Love the Clairo cover, it fits the album perfectly, but I agree with the rest We need artist to invest more into album photoshoots again. I know people don't care as much for them but for me they are a defining part of an album and can actually add to my overall liking of the musical content. Same for videos

no_better Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Always try harder! There is no point in having the opposite attitude when it comes to art 1
psychodiva336 Posted November 10 Posted November 10 They do need to try harder. I'd rather have one really good cover than 5 variants which are all zero effort. IMO Pink Friday 2 is a great example of an album with many high quality covers of which all are beautiful, but that is sadly a rarity nowadays. I kinda blame Taylor for catapulting these low effort album covers into popularity with folklore. 2

HANZ94 Posted November 10 Posted November 10 streaming literally killed everything we loved about Pop Music no one does Stunning album covers, high budget music videos with a story, lots of performances and interviews anymore
BlahBlahBlah Posted November 10 Posted November 10 I feel like because it's so easy to switch them out later on on streaming if you don't like them (like Rina did, or Britney's team did for Glory) and the pressure to create a bunch of stupid ******* variants for vinyls, that album art has become less "permanent." When there's less of a critical need to "get it right" the first time and the opportunity for a bunch of alternate versions anyway it's easy to not care as much, leading to bad/simple covers. 1

The absolute scream I just let out. In what f*cking world are the covers of PF2 'high quality'? They're god awful AI atrocities. 2 2

Erreur2 La Nature Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Yes. We need popgirls to look like popgirls and make us dream. All of these recent album/single covers are incredibly tragic, lazy. 1
