CC may not win because it's bloated and contains filler.

A problem HMHAS doesn't have

Samples can completely change a song, not sure why you consider it lesser than writing a song from scratch.

I never said that?

"it's because of samples!!!" then don't overly rely on samples? Clearly none of the other nominees needed to.

Listen to the vinyl version and tell me its not an immaculate body of work. The radio setup, the continuity, the references, the narration, going from a classical Country feei in the beginning of the album to a fusion and blend of genres towards the end of the album and thus depicting the future of Country, the play between American Requiem (beginning) and Amen (end).

Like hello? Stop disrespecting Cowboy Carter faguettes!

The reason why she won't win AOTY is because she didn't release the visuals for Renaissance. NO GRAMMY FOR YOU BEY UNTIL I HAVE THE PURE/HONEY VIDEO BLASTING THROUGH MY EYES!!!

Because she's a black woman. Next question.

She's literally the most decorated artist at the Grammys of all time. :rip: Yeah the Grammys must really hate her because she's black, she's only won 32 awards.

The convo is about AOTY babe.

Taylor: 4 AOTY

All black females in the history of the Grammies together: 3 AOTY

And these 32 Grammies actually further prove how dogshit the Grammies are since they basically dont give the AOTY to the most decorated artist in their history.

How can u keep a straight face and basically say "you are amazing, the best of the best, but only among ur fellow black peeps. The moment u step against our white crown jewels, you lose. Doesnt matter if u sold the most, have the best criqitiques, won Peabody awards, changed the game, etc"

The larger conversation is about whether or not the Academy and Grammy voters take race into consideration when deciding to award/not award Beyonce. I see your point when it comes to the industry overall, and I certainly believe that racism is a major problem in the industry and that many black artists are overlooked. Beyonce is factually not one of them. She is the most nominated and most awarded artist EVER. CC, in fact, became the most nominated album of all time this week (a record previously held by a black man, no less). She continues to break Grammy records to this day. Maybe voters think she just hasn't released an AOTY yet?

I just think the argument of "she's a black woman" in this case is so insensitive to the actual racism and real vitriol that black women receive on the daily, and it only ages more poorly given who won the election this week. When the conversation is about Bey's black woman identity and the Grammy's, the story is one of success, acknowledgement, and achievement. 32 Grammys and the most awarded artist of all time? Crying over one singular award she hasn't one yet makes the story about greed instead.

But there is something to be said about the message, which I edited above:

If her team didn't force songwriters to give up 50% of their publishing to her (despite her having no involvement in the writing process) in order to be included on her projects, she would be ineligible.

The way you just make things up and pretend they're facts. :rip: Tf is this?

CC is basically a compilation album at this point. If her team didn't force songwriters to give up 50% of their publishing to her (despite her having no involvement in the writing process) in order to be included on her projects, she would be ineligible. She's a brilliant singer and entertainer, but compared to some of the actual songwriters she's up against, she doesn't deserve this specific accolade.

Oh wow I didn't realise it was called "Best Songwriter of the Year" award I thought it was "Album of the Year". Thanks for letting us know.
