byzantium Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Breaking: Grammy darling gets Grammy nominations. Tune in at 6 for more!
UnusualBoy Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Some of the noms are a bit iffy but she's a grammy darling so this isn't exactly shocking.

Rv1709 Posted November 8 Posted November 8 How did she get Grammy noms for country categories but snubbed by country award shows?
spiritboy Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Well done King B. It's normal for the haters to be pressed because they all secretly with their faves were as talented as Beyonce. 6
Triton Posted November 8 Posted November 8 I thought Grammys didn't matter…. Yet here we are 5 pages in here and 40 in the main thread

You CAN'T have it both ways lol yes we can lol cause us celebrating her nominations and the awards she does win doesn't mean the grammys aren't still racist and play in her (and every other black artist's, especially women's) face. like what's not clicking for you? do we seriously have to explain this every single year? having that many nominations (which are mostly just bait for her to show up and hopefully perform to help the grammy's tragic audience ratings anyway) but still not getting any of the "important" categories her less acclaimed/successful peers easily get isn't some form of mistreatment to you? no black woman winning aoty in decades isn't weird to you? i already know the answer but please, at least stop playing dense every year; it's a bit tired by now Edited November 8 by ScorpiosGroove 6

And if you don't think even a highly praised superstar can be mistreated, then you're not really acknowledging what people are saying it for or why. 8 minutes ago, ScorpiosGroove said: yes we can lol cause us celebrating her nominations and the awards she does win doesn't mean the grammys aren't still racist and play in her (and every other black artist's, especially women's) face. like what's not clicking for you? do we seriously have to explain this every single year? having that many nominations (which are mostly just bait for her to show up and hopefully perform to help the grammy's tragic audience ratings anyway) but still not getting any of the "important" categories her less acclaimed/successful peers easily get isn't some form of mistreatment to you? no black woman winning aoty in decades isn't weird to you? i already know the answer but please, at least stop playing dense every year; it's a bit tired by now "Beyoncé" and "underrated" don't belong on the same sentence. Work on something else. The narrative is over. She's privileged. Edited November 8 by Blade Runner

PopMusicJunkie Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Well, no. I don't care what anyone says, but CC is great.

dumbsparce Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Not at all. They gave her the mandatory noms as always. Here's hoping they'll stick to their guns and not give her that award she so desperately thinks she deserves. 2
Marla Singer Posted November 8 Posted November 8 She should have got more nominations. If she had released the visuals then she would've been up for Best Music Video/Music Film, she could easily have had multiple nominations for some of the categories and there are many great songs on the album that didn't get nominated, and don't even get me started on the My House snub. She's obviously not going to win all 11 nominations, even though she should. And if Sabrina can get a Best New Artist nomination for her 6th album then you could argue that Beyoncé should have got one for her 8th. So for those saying we can't claim she's under-rated; yes we can, and we will. 1
