ariananext Posted November 6 Posted November 6 That was obvious for years now, she released almost one album per year last decade and now there was a 4 years gap from Positions to Eternal Sunshine. I don't mind this tbh, especially if it's going to be musicals and theater. 3 2

She's been pretty vocal about loving musical theatre her entire career. Wouldn't be shocked to see her on Broadway in a few years tbh 54 minutes ago, Tm4074 said: I expected this and don't mind. I'm looking forward to seeing what she does in the acting and theater space. Wicked is shaping up to be a huge moment for her in her career. She is the perfect person to take the Cher, Barbra, Gaga, Timberlake, etc. route. Diversifying her career is smart, tbh. Most artists tend to slow down in their second decade anyway. She will still release music but not every year like she was from 2013 to 2020. This
Mr.X Posted November 6 Posted November 6 This is my pop 9/11 damn... She is SHITE at acting, lets be serious. 1
laqqinq Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Everyone saw that coming since 2-3 years now. If Wicked becomes a big success, she will continue to delve deeper into the acting world: film, and maybe even stage and theater. It's not like she'll just go back into pop star mode the moment Wicked 2 press run is over. I think she will make albums with a 2-3 year gap between each of them.
Shinkirou Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Good for her, but I doubt she'll attain by this. She had said she wouldn't release any music until Wicked came out but just couldn't help herself. She just loves producing music too much. We'll see I guess. 1
Blue Monday Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I think people forget that she was a theater kid who fell into pop stardom; this feels like a natural progression for her, especially after WICKED and how she's being received specifically. It's a smart move because she can continue to build upon her legacy as one of the greats, but just because she won't be releasing music at the rate she has been doesn't mean she's going to stop. I think music is something that comes very naturally to her; just look at Eternal Sunshine, we weren't supposed to have it and then we got it because she felt inspired out of reconnecting with Max Martin. 2
ImpressMeMuch Posted November 6 Posted November 6 She's just saying she doesnt aspire to continue being an MPG, she will always be musical and we will always be blessed with her voice 1

Releasing annual albums --> Unapologetic/Positions (2012/2020) -> Anti/Eternal Sunshine (2016/2024) -> the end She's more passionate about music than Rihanna (no shade). 2 1

Ya I don't understand people said she wouldn't do music when she said she still will be a pop girly, just wouldn't be often and breaks in between. We still are getting the deluxe and a tour, but I remember she always was during her career acting in small parts, so she probably just wants it so more. I can't see her stopping music at all, she always will be wanting music, but definitely will be doing other things as well! I can't wait to see her on other roles!! 1

Plus ES deluxe is coming sometime next year, and she loves making mvs!!! We been feed and I hope we see her in musicals!!! 2
Tm4074 Posted November 6 Posted November 6 (edited) Idk why people are comparing her to Rihanna. She literally said she will continue to do music forever, just not at the frequency she has in the past which is unsustainable anyway. This is not new to pop girls at the second stage in their career. For example, Beyoncé isn't releasing studio albums every year. Since 2016 she released 3 studio albums. She's still very present culturally and musically though. Relax. Edited November 6 by Tm4074 3
shark_heather Posted November 6 Posted November 6 And thats pretty fair She is actually amazing in comedy AND in musical theater The ONLY thing we want is when she releases an album ( every 4-5 years ) to tour with it
loveisdead9582 Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I mean, she took 3 1/2 years between positions and Eternal Sunshine. She released three albums between 2018-2020 and prior to that it seemed to have been one album every two years. Not surprised though. She needs a break for herself
SupremeGoddess Posted November 6 Posted November 6 thank you! 🙏 amen sis, better to release nothing ever again 1 3
schnetzka Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I just hope it doesn't start becoming one album every six years like some artists.
Shimenawa Posted November 6 Posted November 6 She's rihtired now but we still have beautiful makeup and movies it's ok
sweetsexysavage Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I'll miss her frequent releases, because i love her albums. My Everything to tun/positions was a highlight for pop music.
gatito Posted November 6 Posted November 6 i think this is more sustainable for her we still get ari stuff anyway the rihanna comparisons are silly, that woman was never passionate or serious about her music 1 2

P!nk Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Spoiler I know it won't but… let's see if she is saying this after Wicked flops or her performance in the film is panned. 1
