laqqinq Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Did Gaga's song's position lower in the final predictions? iirc it was predicted for #18? Okay though. Also what kind of genre is it. Is it good? /lh
Popular Post halcyonday Posted November 4 Popular Post Posted November 4 Her lowest lead debut omfg Only took her #1 on TTH, 140m playlist reach, music video, double feature with Bruno, Halloween hype, DWAS hype, 300M$ global movie and huge radio deal no one does it like her! 2 3 21 8
ontherocks Posted November 4 Posted November 4 (edited) I will say something remotely positive. The instrumetal is actually decent, but she ruins it with her lyrics and vocals and it's not the first time happening. It just sounds so forced. Like somebody from Nurtec lab yelling at you to take your medicine or you'll die. Like, what's the audience for this? Edited November 4 by ontherocks 1 6 5

The reception to the single may be commercially underwhelming (what a shocker, a bombastic dance-pop song with a shouted chorus in 2024 isn't lighting up the charts) but the song has done its job garnering acclaim, reconnecting with her fanbase and reviving her brand from jazz/acting mode. It's unrealistic to expect Lady Gaga's fanbase in pop to be on the level of Swifties when their career activities for the past decade have been polar opposites. 1 6 10

I am surprised by this comment, because most LM's agree that this is challenging her best lead single ever, so I assume at least the fanbase is more than satisfied with the material.

The only publications that bothered to review this song are from the UK, which is the only country where this song didn't tank as bad, the rest of the world hates this song Edited November 5 by Femininomenon 1

At least KitKats can pull "the music sucks" card for her flopping, but you're telling me Gaga is flopping with an acclaimed and fan favourite lead single? Oh it's BAD for her 2 9 1 3

brianc33710 Posted November 5 Posted November 5 6 hours ago, Hector said: And the closest top 3 afterwards: John Legend takes over the Billboard Hot 100 at last, as his piano ballad "All of Me" unseats Pharrell Williams' "Happy," which reigned for 10 weeks. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande blasts in at No 3 with "Problem" (featuring rap newcomer Iggy Azalea), which narrowly misses bowing at No 1 itself. (Note: Problem sold over 400K to debut at #3 ) And the winner is …: Legend by a nose! "All of Me" beats out "Happy" with a mere .009 per cent higher points total. ("All" actually drops by 6 per cent in overall points, while "Happy" decreases by 11 per cent.) Legend, who'd spent six weeks at No 2 below Williams, wins the tightest race for a new No 1 over No 2 since Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" replaced Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain" by a slightly narrower margin on the Feb 18, 2012, chart. https://www.stabroeknews.com/2014/05/10/the-scene/john-legends-tops-hot-100/#:~:text=(Billboard) – John Legend takes, bowing at No 1 itself. You had these songs & Dark Horse, so an incredibly powerful top of the Hot 100 at that point. Happy, DH & AOM all peaked at over 180 million on BBs Radio Songs. I don't think a song has reached 110 since Blinding Lights, or did As It Was? Easy On Me was around 105 million. @Digitalism Do you think she is smoking or is that just for the video? At 1 point that was rumored. Adele quit. Obviously that played a HUGE part inpart ruining Whitney's voice. I actually like Gaga so I'm not "shading" by asking.
Calvin Posted November 5 Posted November 5 1 spot higher than TOTC predicted. That's a huge win for Lady Gaga, Congrats on #27 debut 2 2
