This song is currently smashing on Spotify, cracking the top 10  Y'all don't think this is FRESH and innovative?

I don't stan any basic white women. We shouldn't have to look to other cultures or the fringe to find quality entertainment. It should be mainstream and abundant.

Anime is mainstream and abundant, I'd argue there's only a few pop stars that are more mainstream than anime is right now.

Music overall is much better right now than maybe 20 years ago.  It's just not necessarily for the type of gays looking for "iconic looks" and "sex" while singing a generic song about love and sex.

Then don't complain if you're not willing to look into things outside your normalcy.

I have read manga and watched anime and it doesn't appeal to me. Why are y'all so pushy?

Gays have always been fairly creative and at the forefront of fashion and entertainment. I'd rather see culture reflect gay taste than teen girl taste like it does now.

Because you're complaining about media not being good, and we're telling that there are forms of media in a quality renaissance now and you're just being dismissive and eltist about it…

The GP's taste has always been questionable at times and hard to predict.  However, it's pretty clear Die With A Smile is more of a GP friendly/all demographics song than Disease.  I'm just glad she's not letting the GP pandering bleed into all of her music output, I would rather an underperforming song like Disease than a watered down song that does well.

They were completely tasteless when they let Houdini not even enter the top 10 of the Hot 100 that's for sure.

F*cking incels.

Sabrina, Chappell and Charli all smashed this year and they have tons of songs about sex and sexual innuendos :deadbanana2: this is just another cheap Swiftarian way of disguising internalized homophobia

Marvel, McDonald's, Taylor swift… all fall into the same category. Basic but very palatable products are always going to be consumed en masse

Big radio stations are not going to play the more experimental stuff unless it already gained traction elsewhere. Pleasant and familiar with big names attached is the reason why DWAS got so big so quick with the gp.

Not talking down on these products…just the way the gp works

Has Marvel won a Best Film Oscar, or McDonalds a Michelin star?:pancake:

Have the greatest chefs of all time praised the Big Mac as the best meal of our time?

People mentioning Taylor in here.

I've been thinking about how stale the movie industry is for a long ass time. My username is Grace Randolph. Y'all read into my posts however you want.

Music comes and goes in waves. And to be fair, the GP generally has pretty bad taste. Enjoy the music that you want. As far as Gaga is concerned, songs like DWAS doing well mean that she can continue to release songs like Disease. She's going to get the numbers somehow. Besides, we've had songs like Espresso, BOAF, and other fun pop songs that have done well on the charts this year too.
