Nnnn. Had David not made it very apparent that he doesn't like what Dan does, I'd get your point. But then he doubled down and made a comment on an interview for the new show. It's also kind of shade towards Disney and saying that he didn't get paid very well.

But the NERVE when the show is TERRIBLE is kinda too sad to be offended by. Classic cognitive dissonance, you could almost hear that hauntingly terrible laugh track.

I find it funny that David Henrie didn't return for the reunion movie because he thought his career was gonna pop off and then proceeded to pitch a reboot multiple times. Finally had to beg Selena to co-sign for it to get green-lit and didn't tell the rest of the cast. He's messy.

It's complicated, but I ultimately side with shaming Dan Benson's career now, but probably not for the same reasons David Henrie has. Henrie is a devout catholic, so I'm sure he has some pretty rigid beliefs surrounding loose and casual sexuality, as well as adult content, and I'm sure he has even stronger earnest beliefs surrounding sexual orientation, so that's probably where his disapproval of Dan's lifestyle come from. 

 

I, on the other hand, am a gay man, and knowing that Dan is a straight man who deliberately makes insincerely gay content to profit off of actual gay men's sexuality feels incredibly gross, opportunistic, desperate, and false to me. Not all sex work is necessarily worthy of hellfire and condemnation, but what Dan does most certainly is. Choose a more honest living, dude... There's a million ways you can support yourself that don't include selling your body to make gay-for-pay content that achieves nothing beyond satisfying somebody's porn habits. 

 

Some things are worthy of shame, and this is one of them. Peace out.
