All our MPGs are flopping, why?

Taylor's about to overtake Madge to become the most successful female artists of all time in a few months and gheys here are still grasping for straws.

We love to see this level of floppage. If this is flopping, may she continue to flop every year

Most of the Katy, Gaga, Beyoncé fans are pushing 40 now, maybe this is a sign to leave ATRL and the Stan world for good

People saying Taylor sold a lot so she is consumed as if she didn't release the same album with a few variant songs. People are not listening. They are mass buying.

Those variants barely sold 100k in total

Spoiler

Maybe I should've let ArtpopGaga user drag you that day.

As always Liddos are trying to turn GaGa's unprecedented levels of tankery into a group endeavour. GaGa and Katy are the only ones flopping at present.

tbh most of our pop girl's time is up, and their best work is behind them. The newer girls are serving quality so I'm not too pressed about it.

Cowboy Carter isn't the right material for her,  Bey would still smash with other sounds

Gaga literally has a song sitting at number 2. Disease has been out for 3 days now? The video hasn't dropped yet? Let's give her a minute before we jump to conclusions.

Katy's issues were her own fault so I don't feel bad there.

Taylor's issue was probably overexposure. She has been everywhere for so long and while TTPD is good, it's kind of interchangeable with some of her other albums.

Adele hasn't released new material in a few years so that's not surprising. 30 was also not quite as loved as her previous albums as well.

Rihanna isn't flopping per se… as she too lazy hasn't actually released anything… despite probably having recorded 6 albums worth of material at this point.

Beyoncé released a country album - a genre that she isn't known for and may have put off some of her fan base. The fact that it was paid dust by country music stations and artists didn't help. It still had a number one single.

the other girls just released some great material this year while our favs are (mostly) putting out decent music - just maybe not as fresh as some of their contemporaries. Ariana did release the best music video of the year and she scored a number 1 from the same album plus has an upcoming movie that's been doing well in pre sales.

Taylor this year: Headlined the biggest tour of all time ($2.2B+ gross), released the biggest album of the year, had the second biggest sales week of all time, won Album of the Year, is on pace to move 45M+ global album units in 2024, became the richest female artist of all time

OP: Taylor's career is in shambles

Not me just realizing you have less than 400 posts when I'm pretty sure I've seen at least 200 of them in Gaga threads. :deadbanana2:

Leave Cowboy Cashgrab out of this, the album is older than Renaissance and still had a monstrous opening week..with no momentum but still

The new girls are just very middling. There's really only two or three and they barely make headlines.

I think the millennial pop girls will always remain relevant just because of their iconic status and GP interest in them hasn't waned at all and people are desperate to be part of millennial culture.

Look at Tay, Bey, Charli, just having some of their biggest eras.

It's too soon to call out Rihanna and Gaga imo.

Rihanna still has amazing streams.

gaga still doing very will with DWAS

gaga new single is good so I'm not complaining.

beyonce new albums blows so I'm not surprised.

the pop paradigm has officially shifted. It was never as clear as day as it has been in 2024 with the rises of Sabrina, Charli, Chappell, Olivia, Billie, etc. The millennial artists are now all really struggling now with only exceptions being Taylor and Bey. Gen Z artists are the ones who have the fans really perched for their releases now.  Majority of millennial artists' fans are older now and have full-time jobs, families, etc. and just aren't gonna be as supportive anymore. It's the natural cycle. Also let's face it a lot of the millennial artists are just not serving creatively like they used to.

Lmao TTPD is bigger than every other female release in 2024 backed by a tour that destroys everyone else's in revenue. If Taylor's career is in shambles, everyone else's careers never started at all. :coffee:

Lady Gaga is also approaching 40s… she is officially "old" within the pop music landscape. She won't be successful with her own music anymore but she can still tour and find success there like the other veterans.

When y'all get over aging and cultural changes you will be free.

I will say tho that Gen Z batch (mostly) released better material than most of the 00s pop girls. So this is a welcome change to me.

The 00s generation will have more cultural cache for a while because of the time they came up in and how decentralized things are now,but the 2020s acts hold just as much name value with their respective generation.
