Hmmm. This is her best lead in years, and everyone in the pop world knows it. The song may not be groundbreaking, but it's a great start. If this pop era doesn't do well, I think Gaga might step away from pop music forever and lean toward something safer, like adult contemporary, similar to A Star is Born-Joanne. That would be unfortunate.
 

But where's the video? The performances? The playlisting from Interscope? Where's the big promo-marketing for this?
I wonder if the "harlequin" thing hurt her public perception. I've seen a lot of backlash to that movie online and people mockin it or blaming her, and Die With a Smile is carried mostly by Bruno. Sometimes I feel like she might regret setting a date for the song's release. She likely intended for the movie to be huge and to drive the album, but things just didn't work out and it was too late to push back the record cause the fans were too hyped 
 

I hope she doesn't abandon-change the concept for this era because that would be a huge huge disappointment. Stand by your era. It's time for her to stop chasing the charts and focus on showing her artistry.  I want her to fight for this era, like Katy did with her underperforming project. Tons of videos-great visuals-iconic performances-interviews  Once the album is out everyone will love it. mark my words.
 

Releasing a feature and another single could help keep up the momentum. This will be her stupid love and then her Rain on Me is coming
This era has a dark vibe. If I were Gaga, I'd release a 80s disco-synthpop-nocturnal influenced feature with The Weeknd, since his style fits the dark sound of this record and he could really help boost it.  She was seen with him some months-a year ago in malibu
 

Sometimes I wonder if all these issues are because Gaga's fans were so rude to Katy.
I get attacking Katy, but they went too far, and now maybe karma is coming back around  karma karma chameleon

I'm not from the US so I don't know how huge it is there but I find it frustrating that it has become this huge song with longevity over other more globally successful songs like Too Sweet, Beautiful Things, Please Please Please and now Good Luck Babe. I mean they are all massive hits but I wish these songs would have done better in the US than Lose Control.

The Christmas music will come in to dominate in the next 2 to 3 weeks so Mariahs record is safe again but it's impressive that Shaboozey can maintain this smash for so long. I hope he gets another hit in the future.

 

Looks like the next #1 after the Christmas rush is DWAS or BOAF. Also Gaga was abit dumb to release a new single while she has one smashing...especially after the bomb that was Joker 2. She should've had some breathing room before releasing Disease ( which would've been a perfect late January song)

 

Lose Control needs to go. I'm mad the superior The Door never had a chance to hit top 10.

Lose Control is perfect radio fodder. As long as they keep it on the radio it's gonna keep running the charts.

 

He has better songs too but the radio wants to keep playing this so unlike Sabrina ( who keeps getting whatever she releases mixed in) it's hurting his output. Sadly he's gonna be a one hit wonder which is sad cuz if you hear his other songs you know this is literally his worst song.

This song is horrible so she deserves it. Moreover, Gaga is associated with one of the biggest bombs in boxoffice history, so she had to deliver sth great to even stand a chance.
