There were several prominent members of her base saying it in a thread recently about recurrent streams and still insisting that Gaga gave Beyoncé her last hit.

It's very telling that Gaga's only smash "era" in over 10 years was... a movie soundtrack that went nowhere before the film actually came out

I don't think the video is helping this song climb the charts in any way. It's a treat for Monsters but for the GP it's just too much. So many things are happening in it that at some point it becomes overwhelming, unsettling and messy. And maybe that's what she was going for and that's what her fans are gonna enjoy but for the casual viewer it doesn't have any replay value imo. It's like she really wanted to do anything she could to bring back the TFM/BTW era but ultimately overdid it.

All of this. I love Gaga so much and appreciate all of her talents, but as a casual listener who loves the song, this is my stance on the video. Sadly some monsters get too insecure and get to attack when someone points out something like that
