And there's a scene late in the film where the two have a yelling match where out of spite and drunken rage, Jackson calls her ugly in an effort to hurt her after she comes for his alcoholism. Its contrasted with him calling her beautiful and being entranced by her earlier in the film. 

 

Anyway, you seem to be very stuck and hyper-focused on using the world ugly in reference to Gaga. Care to share why?
