Attempting to show humanity to those dealing with addiction (with the comment I previously replied to being explicit criticism solely on that and the fact that they died by suicide of all things) isn't an endorsement of abuse. Nuance exists and this isn't the gotcha you think it is. 2

ariananext Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I remember years ago he said about Justin Bieber that the 1D boys didn't go crazy because they were all in it together and could rely on each other, while he was alone. And in fact, as soon as he lost that he himself started spiraling, he probably didn't have a solid support system, it was clear he wasn't doing well but it's not easy to deal with a situation like this nor to help someone in his position, most of the times they push everybody away and don't let others help them. I feel for Maya and everybody around him, it's all so tragic. 6
Popular Post blanterns Posted October 17 Popular Post Posted October 17 (edited) Did he do bad things and deserved to be punished? Yes. Do we need to understand that addiction is a disease? Yes. Does his addiction justify his actions? No. Can we mourn and be in shock because of the suddenness of his death? Yes. Especially because he was someone who was part of many people's childhood and teenage years? Yes. Does this mean he was a saint and we should all treat him like a God? No. Simple. It's not that difficult, one thing doesn't invalidate the other. Life is not black and white. Edited October 17 by blanterns 9 21

Another tragic story of a child star. I feel so bad for his kid. Louis also. I think the only ones handling their level of fame well were Harry and Niall tbh 1

Arthoe Posted October 17 Posted October 17 6 minutes ago, Windy Day said: so ig it's okay that he chased his ex girlfriend with an axe and threatened her while being on drugs anyway, RIP Of course it's not, but mental illness is not the "uwu, I'm so depressed, I'm sad in my apartment all day and pout" BS that the media has been successfully selling. Mental illness is messy, people with mental illness can do incredibly f*cked up things to other people. Especially when addiction, especially c*caine, and the burden of toxic masculinity and growing up as a child star are also involved. And those people deserve to get better as well. They deserve to understand the extent of what their mental illness has made them do, they deserve to take accountability. Just like victims are entitled to not accept apologies, tell their stories, get justice and/or wish to go no-contact and cut these people out of their lives forever. 6 2

Well, none of them have said anything yet, and generally you'd think that even PR fluff would have been dropped on their socials by now whether they had a falling out or not.

This happened at night in the UK so it will blow up a lot more in the morning, i think it's normal that none of them have spoken out yet, it's very delicate. The relationship between all of them seems to be very good these days, they're not best friends but they're always commenting and liking each other's posts, even Zayn responded to him on Instagram. My life was hell because of them and I had to fight everyday to survive and find a way to take care of myself and protect myself from those people as a kid, so no, they are not people who deserve respect because they CHOSE to use drugs. Everyone's brain is wired different babes. Some try alcohol and develop alcoholism. Some try other drugs and develop a drug addiction. If they knew beforehand how their life would end, I doubt most of them would start trying it in the first place. Sad your childhood was affected by it, but if you can't see it's an illness then you're just blinded by hatred honestly. 1
Popular Post Cain Posted October 17 Popular Post Posted October 17 Going through this thread is headache inducing Both the holier than thou people suddenly preaching about online bullying, people needing to go to hell for writing tweets and saying "IF this was suicide THEN I hope people feel bad!", and if it wasn't? Then what? You didn't stand up for Liam when he was alive and doing it now that he's suddenly passed away is a little too late. Bullying is always wrong and no one should have to die for people to come out in swarms to try and be righteous about that, nor is someone on Liam's level solely dependent on the internet's approval and his passing as sad as it is did not only come from that. He was very troubled, and he did have allegations against him which were valid to be criticized in the moment and yes, also now As well as the "I don't respect people who do drugs" and "I didn't like 1D" comments like that is INSANE to say, a drug addiction is not some moral failing, it is a serious condition that is not someone's choice. Try to have some empathy ffs RIP, this is really a shock cause it's one of the first celebrity deaths of my generation, makes me afraid of what's to come 21 7
shark_heather Posted October 17 Posted October 17 RIP Just a question for the ones who were following him Did he had any relationship with his son ? If im not mistaken he was practically not working at all for the past 4-5 years so he had pleanty of time to spend with his child
HardBambi Posted October 17 Posted October 17 RIP! OMG life is cruel! Is there any proof of drugs or so? The video of him in the hotel doesn't look like anything druggy to me Cheryl must be in shock. Poor Bear too
