I came in here to express my shock and grief at a young man losing his life and I see people picking fights and arguing that he doesn't deserve forgiveness? Possibly but this terrible waste of potential, of youth, not to mention his son deserve your respect and your silence. It's been hours. He never got the chance to turn his life around. Have some decency and keep your mouth shut, you can gloat over a young man's death in a week. This. I was genuinely shocked then went to Twitter and it was all jokes? Sad. RIP. A tragedy really. 5
MP3 Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Funny tho how out of sudden everybody forgot they were bashing him and his face not so long ago.. I hope you learn something y'all 6

RW93 Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Wow so conflicted.. I was a fan of 1D from the early early days, talking weekly video diaries in the X Factor house. He had such a light in his eyes in the beginning, they all did. I sort of drifted away from being a hardcore fan but always enjoyed what they put out tbh. Its been hard seeing the way he became in the last few years really and obviously the news this last week was hard to stomach. I guess as most people I mourn the person he was when I first got to know him, and maybe mourn where life took him and the choices he made before it all ended. Hope his family and Maya can grieve and process away from the media circus that is about to ensue. 3

The whole world sets the tone for how history books will remember the public's reaction in the first 24 hours, and that starts with each of us as individuals. This kid's probably going to research his dad like crazy. Apparently a lot of the 9/11 kids grew up obsessing over the footage, which traumatised them. I just agree with everyone saying "time and place" because how we react in the first 24 hours will be remembered. Not ATRL specifically, but society as a whole, and like I said, that starts with every individual's words. Edited October 17 by Rihinvention 9 3

Popular Post Bubble Tea Posted October 17 Popular Post Posted October 17 I guess I'm never getting unblocked All I did was tweet him (YEARS ago) "slay me daddy" 21 2
GipJo Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Sad for his family but to be frankly he is a grown adult, he is also responsible for what he did. Did the industry **** him over? Yes, but that doesn't mean he gets to excuse his actions. He should've tried to get rehab, which is what ended up killing him. 1
iHype. Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I think this best summarizes the death reactions. The idea of "celebrating" his death to stand in solidarity for an ex girlfriend in a situation you didn't experience or have knowledge of first hand let alone you also don't know how she herself views it is a bit ignorant. Also for him to take his life drastically there was clearly some type of mental illness, it doesn't excuse any past actions necessarily however it does give insight and to completely discard the insight continues to not show empathy to mental health to some extent. 2 4 2
Marianah Adkins Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I'm shocked, he was my bias wrecker after Zayn in 1D. RIP OT: The hypocrisy of Stan twitter strikes again!

qurl Posted October 17 Posted October 17 he seemed very troubled. it's still allowed to be sad even if he was maybe not a great person; you don't know what anyone has gone thru in their life that makes them act the way they do/do the things they do 1
XxUrSweetSacrificexX Posted October 17 Posted October 17 (edited) here comes all the people who were bullying and making fun of him 5 seconds ago swarm in with pro-mental health replies and 'thoughts and prayers'! love the internet 💕 Edited October 17 by XxUrSweetSacrificexX 2
VelvetCrush Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I never followed his work but it's always very shocking to see a young celebrity passing away. Wishing the best for his family, friends and fans in a time like this
Rigalo Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Ya I doubt Maya would want death for him and even if she did that doesn't mean it would be justified my heart dropped when I saw the headline because of how he's been treated lately, I even admit I was laughing at some of his antics. A sobering moment for reflection 1 1

Don't bother. They only live to hate without any nuance or thought, it's the only source of joy in their lives. 2 2

Yes let's try to help someone who inflicts lifelong trauma on other ppl Did you say that when Wendy said "Death to all of them" as well? 3 minutes ago, PoisonPill said: Don't bother. I don't live to hate, I just don't feel bad for someone dying when that someone inflicted trauma on others 1 9
unclefloprry Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I'm still in shock. 1D was a part of my teenage years, I literally grew up with them. The backlash and bullying this dude has faced for almost... ever. He was always the "ugliest", the "least famous", the "f*t one"... He always struggled with mental health and alcohol, which didn't help. Rest in peace, king. Thanks for the memories.
