Like this comment is straight out of '' women are making up stories about abuse and causing harm '' incel playbook that makes women scared to come forward with their abuse, and it gets this much support? Like I understand that everything should be treated with some healthy critical thinking and skepticism, but you are literally putting it out there that she might be lying. And that's especially egregious when right now, she is getting blame for his death because she revealed her side of the story. No sis. The problem is people rushing to remind us all that this person is problematic (sans any analysis of how extreme fame at a young age contributes to these cycles of abuse in the first place, mind you) before the body has even gone cold. Let fans grieve. Edited October 17 by Kylizzle 7 6 2

Rihinvention Posted October 17 Posted October 17 (edited) Pre-plastic surgery, I always thought he was the hottest one, and never understood why girls frothed over Harry Styles instead of him. Then I slowly became aware that he was the most disliked one in the fanbase. I never got deep into their lore, and to this day, I still don't know any of their songs (except for "That's What Makes You Beautiful"). That being said, I'm in complete shock over this. I can't imagine how actual Directioners are feeling, because they even cried when Zayn left, and said it was like Gen Z's 9/11, that's how big it felt. His poor son. I hate when a kid has to grow up without a parent. It's so unfair when a child has to experience what, to make of us, will be life's greatest trauma (the loss of a parent). BellKat Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Regardless of whatever situation was happening recently, these will always be very sad new. Can people have some respect and let it rest for at least today? Condolences to his family and may he rest in peace 1 2
MatiRod Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I wonder if the rest of the 1D guys will come together in some way. I don't know what the relationships are between them at this point but none of them have posted anything yet, it must be really hard for them. They shared a unique, insane, life-changing experience together for 6-7 years that set in motion the rest of their lives as famous artists. 3

family.guy123 Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Prayers to his family, loved ones, and especially his young son.
Popular Post Space Cowboy Posted October 17 Popular Post Posted October 17 I've been in ATRL enough time to remember the thread when XXXTentacion died (unfortunetely not available). Most comments were cheering and celebrating his death because he was an abuser, homophobic, and a violent person. But for some reason, now with Liam's passing, it's not the right time or the right place to mention or discuss his extremely problematic history of violence, gaslighting and abuse. I wonder what makes these two people receive such different reactions 20 5
Jay07 Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Wow, a new low has been hit. I came in here to express my shock and grief at a young man losing his life and I see people picking fights and arguing that he doesn't deserve forgiveness? Possibly but this terrible waste of potential, of youth, not to mention his son deserve your respect and your silence. It's been hours. He never got the chance to turn his life around. Have some decency and keep your mouth shut, you can gloat over a young man's death in a week. 7

It's so scary because I'm almost certain she will feel to blame for this upon initial reaction. Their controversy was so widely broadcasted she's probably regretting so much now, even though I'm sure she finally felt the courage/has the right to speak out about their issues. Let's just hope she has a strong support system around her right now cause I know it's gotta be scary. 2

The lesson is not that people should be cheering in this thread as they did when X died. Edited October 17 by Kylizzle 3
EndofASadMovie Posted October 17 Posted October 17 (edited) If he didn't die, people would have accused him of attention seeking by attempting suicide even if it's an accident. Half the reasons he was bullied were ridiculous and the same thing that's done to other non problematic celebs that get hate. People are using him being a shitty person as an excuse to bully him for other things that they made up and get mad but I think that's just an excuse to be shitty online because they don't just only do it towards abusers. JoeAg Posted October 17 Posted October 17 holy sh*t how awful RIP Liam I was never a fan of One Direction or any of their solo careers, but the impact of all of them on tumblr in my tumblr years (2012ish-2017) was truly something else. their discography was being dissected on tumblr like Taylor's often is on here and on reddit today. people were STANS, even people you wouldn't expect to be. I really don't want to be negative but I've seen and heard about Liam having gone through a lot and he seemed to be the most turbulent/fragile out of the group so I hate to say that this isn't the biggest shock in the world to me. nonetheless, very tragic and disturbing news. RIP 1 2

Born to Run Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Quote "Obviously the book is fiction," Henry tells PEOPLE, but it's "definitely inspired by true events... [The main character] Mallory is very similar to me, and that's why it was very easy for me to write her character and put the emotion in there. I'm just grateful that I have this opportunity and platform to really help be a voice for women." One in three women have experienced some form of physical violence by a partner — and though Henry, 23, does not accuse the musician of abusing her, it's a topic she explores in Looking Forward via her main character Mallory, an aspiring young model smitten by a sweet-talking British pop star. The book chronicles Mallory's whirlwind romance with the charming Oliver — and her devastation with her unraveling fairytale as he grows frustrated with his stalled career. Wait a damn minute, we can't feel sad for such tragedy because Liam is an alleged abuser and definitely used an axe on his ex... based on a fiction? 4
