Welovetrouble Posted October 16 Posted October 16 (edited) A sub on Reddit keeps popping up on my mainfeed and it is the most unhinged subreddit on Reddit. I know y'all say swifties are obsessed with Taylor but this people who claim to abhor Taylor are unhealthily obsessed with her every move. I am probably the last person to tell a person to get a life since I frequent this forum 😂 but I'm gonna need them to get lives, being that obsessed with a person you don't like can't be healthy. Peak Now Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Unfortunately. I've seen posts from that subreddit reposted on here so there might be some frequent users here 1 5
Rihinvention Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Are they haters or Gaylors? I'm not sure which is weirder.
POPTART Posted October 16 Posted October 16 I've stumbled upon that subreddit recently, it's absolutely crazy. Sort of like O_H on ATRL

Idk anything certain the mods but tbh the name "Taylor and Travis" is giving strong "Travis is a PR stunt to grab media attention!!! something something BEARD something something CONTRACTED DATE" vibes 2
ChooseyLover Posted October 16 Posted October 16 (edited) For some reason the algorithm has been promoting that to me... It's the weirdest shït I've seen in months. Yesterday I read a post about a former OG swiftie selling her collection for $4,000 She stans The 1975 now?! Edited October 16 by ChooseyLover 8
velocity Posted October 16 Posted October 16 i read it occasionally when it pops up but a big chunk of the people there are gross and obsessed. they're so blinded by their hate they can't see they're the same as those insane swifties they love to ridicule 6 1

JoeAg Posted October 16 Posted October 16 yes of course lol I'm on it sometimes I'm not an OTH, and I absolutely think people go overboard on there a LOT, but I'm no longer considering myself a swiftie. I still listen to her music sometimes, but I've greatly distanced myself from the fandom, which has (I know this sounds insane and parasocial) helped my mental health quite a bit it's entertaining reading some of the theories on there, and every so often there'll be some major points made. I think r/swiftlyneutral is FAR more levelheaded and reasonable in the grand scheme of things, and as far as Taylor-related subreddits go, r/swiftlyneutral is the best 1
Rep2000 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Yeah, sadly that sub is going mainstream right now because of how unhinged it has been getting. That and the Meghan Markle sub make ATRL sound like zen therapy. That's how toxic it has become. 1

There's this one Gaylor on TikTok where I genuinely think I would smile if she passed away. I know that sounds evil, but I don't care. She does my head in. She has bright pink hair and had a COMPLETE mental breakdown when Travis entered the picture, and an even bigger breakdown when Taylor released the '1989 (Taylor's Version)' prologue. The mental gymnastics this girl was doing to try and convince herself that it WASN'T about Gaylors, and (it too) was also a desperate attempt to come out, by cryptically communicating with Gaylors… It was like watching the lovechild of parasocial relationships and psychosis being born.

shoganai Posted October 16 Posted October 16 The obsession for this plain blonde tall woman goes beyond my comprehension 5
Le Grande Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Yeah, I hate Taylor like every other person does, but they put me to shame tbh. 1

Why not cut the cord completely? 5 1
Acuminatus Posted October 16 Posted October 16 It's the prime example of "There's a thin line between love and hate". The people inhabiting that sub need to log off and touch grass. 2

Why not cut the cord completely? oh no I've distanced from it on like instagram and twitter lol I used to be super involved on all three is more what I meant! I keep up with occasional news about her and stuff like that on r/swiftlyneutral and on ATRL. when I'm super bored at work maybe I'll go on the r/travisandtaylor and look up if they've talked about things I've wondered about in the past. I'm good at not obsessing/overanalyzing sh*t about celebrities at this point, but I know a lot of people aren't

Cleanromantic Posted October 16 Posted October 16 I'm sure certain members on here are regulars on there giving the things they post on atrl. 3

I just don't think everywhere is all deranged or all not deranged, I feel like there are gradients of opinions and views I occasionally find interesting

JoeAg Posted October 16 Posted October 16 continuing on that^ I don't really consider myself a part of any specific big musical fanbase at this point! I love talking about music and discussing artists but there's so much music and content in the world that I kinda am ready to not focus on one specific big pop artist at all times. like, sure, Kesha and Kylie are two of my favs, but I try not to spend weeks or even days at a time on one fixation

Swifties only attack weirdos that are attacking Taylor first
