MESSIAH13 Posted October 8 Posted October 8 The 90's was such an incredible decade for her I'd go with Ray of Light 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Ray of light and it's night close. If we talking Music. But Erotica is pretty iconic and controversial. Classic Madonna
Oktober Knight Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I'm going with Bedtime Stories. I wanted to say The Immaculate Collection cause it's the most legendary female compilation of all time but that feels like a cop out. I also LOVE Evita, especially since that's what captured the love from the GP again and brought her back in the spotlight which carried over to ROL.
Marianah Adkins Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Damn she was on fire this decade Objectively ROL is perfection but Bedtime Stories is my comfort album, idk if unpopular opinion but what I liked about Bedtime Stories was that she was more sensual and intimate than usual. Erotica has its moments but methinks the surrounding iconic and groundbreaking era was what made it the iconic template that it is.
Oceania Posted October 8 Posted October 8 EROTICA for me because I love its raw production. BS is cute and ROL reminds me too much of other superior (imo) albums she took inspiration from. By far her best decade imo.
1989 Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I have to say Erotica because it's my fave Madonna album and one of my favorite albums of all time, but there's really no wrong answer between Erotica, Ray Of Light, and Bedtime Stories, which all happen to be her top three albums. When I say NO ONE will ever top that run, I-
mike_int Posted October 8 Posted October 8 (edited) It is just amazing if you think that in span of 10 years she went from Vogue, to Erotica, to Bedtime Stories to Ray of Light and all of those are immaculate (no pun intended) pieces of work and important stages of her career The level of re.invention this women was able to do not only successfully but also naturally is amazing. I voted for Ray Of Light, since it is probably my number 1 album ever made. It has such a wide range of styles and emotions going throughout the record but still sounds cohesive and it is really a journey to listen this masterpiece from beginning to end. l Edited October 8 by mike_int

Doogle Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Listening to Ray of Light right now by chance as I see this thread and I'm sorry but no other artist in history is touching Drowned World as an opening and Mer Girl as a closer. I think it's the greatest triumph in post Beatles pop music history and idc how hyperbolic it sounds lol 1
Ewan Chaos Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Ray of Light > Erotica > Bedtime Stories maybe? Bedtime Stories, idk I think it needs to grow on me. I find it still to be a great record with total classics on there, but compared to other Madonna albums I find myself going back to it less than others. Erotica is an amazing record, but it's a bit too long for me to put it above Ray of Light. I'm a 80s Madonna > 90s Madonna truther, but even then ROL still will always have a spot in my top 3 of her albums alongside self-titled and Music.
John Slayne Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Ray of Light > Erotica > Bedtime Stories the GH collections are obviously great but it doesn't feel right to compare them to studio albums. i never cared for Evita and I only use Vogue an He's A Man from I'm Breathless

LadyDiana Posted October 8 Posted October 8 This is a hard question. I love everything from the 90's. She was so full of artistic charge and was working all the time. Lived for her art. I know people age, people get tired, but we lost something in the last 20 years. I wish her no more features with current stars, no more trends, just music for the sake of making music! 1
