Sabrina Carpenter's 'Short n' Sweet' Steps Back to No. 1 on Billboard 200

Plus: Billie Eilish's "Hit Me Hard and Soft" returns to the top five after over a month.

Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet rises 3-1 on the Billboard 200 chart (dated Oct. 12), notching its fourth nonconsecutive week atop the list. It earned 100,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending Oct. 3 (up less than 1%), according to Luminate.

Short n' Sweet debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated Sept. 7, spent its first three weeks at No. 1, and then stepped away for two weeks as Travis Scott's Days Before Rodeo rode to the top (Sept. 28 chart) and Future's Mixtape Pluto debuted in the penthouse (Oct. 5 chart).

Also in the top 10, Billie Eilish's Hit Me Hard and Soft returns to the top five for the first time in more than a month, as it ascends 8-5. The No. 2-peaking set was last in the top five on the Aug. 31 chart, when it ranked at No. 5.  The album's ascent — with a 10% unit gain — is concurrent with the launch of Eilish's tour on Sept. 29 and the premiere of the official music video for the album's single "Birds of a Feather" on Sept. 27.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new Oct. 12, 2024-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard's website on Tuesday (Oct. 8). Shaboozey No. 1 on Hot 100 for 13th Week, Billie Eilish Flies to No. 2, The Weeknd & Playboi Carti Debut at No. 3

Eilish earns her highest rank since 2020, while The Weeknd scores his top career entrance.

Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" adds a 13th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song, which became the singer-songwriter's first leader in July, extends 2024's longest reign. It also now boasts outright the third-longest command this decade.

The track additionally furthers the longest No. 1 run of 2024 on the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart, adding a 17th week in the top spot.

Billie Eilish's "Birds of a Feather" bounds four spots to No. 2 on the Hot 100, achieving a new high, and marking her top rank since 2020, following the release of its official video.

Plus, The Weeknd and Playboi Carti's "Timeless" soars onto the Hot 100 at No. 3. With the song, which starts as the week's most-streamed title, The Weekend earns his 19th top 10, and highest career debut, and Playboi Carti notches his fifth top 10.

The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts (dated Oct. 12, 2024) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, Oct. 8). For all chart news, you can follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram.

What do these numbers look like without Sabrina's singles on it? Since GLB! isn't contributing to Chappell's SPS

6 consecutive weeks with 100k+ units is crazy. :jonny:

Why would we only delete Sabrina'a singles when Chappell has 4 songs from her album charting as well?

And even with that, Sabrina album tracks are doing incredible. With Bed Chem, Good Graces and Juno alone she could easily fight for the #1 on most weeks
