Sazare Posted October 5 Posted October 5 JLo had a rough year but definitely Katy Gaga doesn't belong in this conversation; Mannequin and FAD aren't doing "well" but those are basically just side projects
chaklux Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Jlo for me. This was supposed to be a big era for her , not just the usual. The music, the music movie and the documentary. She was panned for filth , cancelled the tour (at least katy Perry tour is still there), filed for divorce from the so called man that inspired the album and supposed to be her Romeo, then the constant bullying of her on social media pages, she had to lock IG section at some point. It's been a really bad year for JLo sadly 1

Anaconda was not critically acclaimed, but it was indeed a successful film 1
Lady Claire Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Definitely Katy. JLo bombed but not even her was expecting to be a hit anyways. On her doc she says she's pretty aware no one was asking for a new album but she was passionate about the project and it had a somewhat good reception for her standards. Gaga had DWAS, and Joker may be a panned flop but every review praises her acting and how she deserved better than being on it, because she's too good for what it was given to her. I mean, i pretty much would prefer to receive this type of feedback rather than being on a acclaimed film but being called the worst thing on it. As of Katy her album and its singles bombed, she was dragged as an artist, for her producer, her legacy and there's some even critics basically telling her it's time to retire It was one of the worst eras of all time for a female artist. There wasn't a single good thing about that, so she def takes the cake 3 1

She's also the co-lead of a #1 smash song in a collaborative team-effort but HE is the one responsible for the success. Okay KatyKat. Edited October 5 by Doctor Dick 1
Doctor Dick Posted October 5 Posted October 5 If the movie was a giant smash Joaquin would be responsible and if DWAS would've bombed Gaga would be the reason There's no way OGHs aren't the most idiotic group of weasels out of all. OT: Gaga is #1 with her latest single with 100+ million monthly listeners while Katy is a flop vocalist, has a flop album, three flop singles in a row and a flop reputation. I'd say the "winner" is Katy. 1
Femalien Posted October 5 Posted October 5 honestly so far i have to say gaga because she actually had something to lose, and seems to have squandered major momentum. Katy and Jlo were already so over they needed a new word for over. Gaga can actually come back and turn this around though
Capris Groove Posted October 5 Posted October 5 (edited) I have to give this to Gaga because the other two just released projects that weren't well-received. This wasn't really news outside their fanbases. This Joker movie actually seems to be actively despised by the general public, and will probably have an impact on the way production companies approach big marketing bugets and also the commercial appeal of musicals. The badness of is having an actual impact. Katy and Jlo can rebound in a few years with a simple comeback. Gaga's situation is a little trickier, because again, it's not that people simply aren't connecting with it, it's that they're actively annoyed by it and feel deceived after the first movie was so massive. And these people aren't just her fans, like with Jlo and Gaga. Edited October 5 by Capris Groove 1 1

However, I highly doubt he would return to tv/movies soon. 1

It's just that she expected to take a movie that would be absolutely huge, like blockbuster level. Which would cement her as a legimitately commercial "butts in seats" actress. The opposite happened, and one of the reasons it's so disliked is because of the singing (which is Gaga's part). For sure she'll have to choose a much different role next time, and absolutely one that is not related to music. Edited October 5 by Capris Groove 1
