Omg what a voice, what a performance! The rasp in her voice on the high notes 🫠

Happy Mistake is my 2nd fave off the album, and I wish she had performed The Joker, but damn was this an amazing performance!

This is song is objectively good, I don't get the public's rejection! She was amazing in this live.

She's lip-syncing to pre-recorded vocals with autotune/pitch correction applied. Her vocals aren't matching her movements. Pre-recorded vocals have become a trend in the industry so she's not the only one.

Even so, live or not she sounds incredible. Reminds me of her 2009 Bad Romance/Speechless performance, although she sang live there

Expected nothing different from Kanye West :bibliahh:

A billie eilish stan would know a good song  :clap3:

Birds of a feather

A once-in-a-generation voice. Some of her (former) peers will never have that :clap3:

That's lowkey the best she has sounded this decade. The song would challenge her all-time best ballads with a stronger climax.

okay vocals

Gaga can retire today and she'll still go down as a more adventurous, more talented, more versatile artist with a richer, more meaningful legacy spanning multiple fields than the one-trick balladeer you (pretend to?) stan but ok :rip:

And this is just within the past hour :rip:

I can't at all these OGHs exposed this week.

Absolutely everyone, EVERY-ONE has some type of correction and vocal chain added to mic feed these days, even Adele,Beyonce etc

It is an standard these days

:celestial5:  Everyone uses auto-tune these days....ignore it and try to enjoy it ?

no :coffee2: my personal preference is for VOCALISTS not to sound so heavily tuned in live performances, and gaga was one of the ones that set that standard for me

Was the performance pre-recorded? The vocals sound like from those pre-recorded performances everyone did during the pandemic. If not, then I hear some auto-tune added into the mic, and I don't get why, since her voice sounds better raw and not with this robotic tone :lakitu:

It's called depth and echoe effects, that's completely different than autotune

She is sounding soooooo good! The mix is also so so so good! I know she was feeling every notes.

The plosives are way too present for this not to be live.

This did not sound live to be honest. More like lipped. Could not even hear her breathe but maybe she's that good.

There's clearly pitch correction happening on some of the riffs and it sounds metallic at points. Not really a bad thing I just wish her vocal was more raw. They've done this to several performances of hers over the past few years (Shallow at the Grammys got corrected in post, her Enigma live concert for Sirius XM, VMAs 2020). She obviously sounded good and sang live but they edited it a bit for the show. I still enjoyed the performance though, nobody can sing like her.

It's not lipped, there's some pitch correction happening and reverb effects. This has been popularized lately especially by the Kpop industry and has been moving here.

Here's an example:

Ningning is clearly a great singer but they add some reverb and pitch correction to smooth out inconsistencies.
