I agree, until Confessions it was Madonna who was creating trends, after Confessions she started to follows them and it was beginning of the end of her uniqueness and artistic growth. Of course with some exceptions.

The "Timbaland" sound was everywhere already from 2005 and in 2008 when Hard Candy was released it didnt sound fresh anymore.

Why is Madonna always expected to "create" trends? It's insanely unrealistic to expect pop stars to reinvent music trends with each new album, most pop stars this forum stan certainly didn't so it is always expected from Madonna? Really weird double standards going on with that :rip:

Hopefully her new album is good as her last album madame x only had 2 or maybe 3 good songs on it the rest of the songs was annoying trendy music.

Just don't autotune her voice and give us another middle eastern dance bop like Isaac 2.0 :jonnycat:

I dont think it is expected from her anymore, but it was before, since first 20+ years of her career she dictated them.

It is also certain type of compliment. I think it is better to expect something great from an artist based on their previous work rather than expect always the same because you already know they are not able to re-invent, which was absolute opposite of Madonna.

I dont expect from her to create trends anymore but I wish she stop chasing the current trends in order to get satisfy generation who will anyway wont be her main buying force.

She could do something LEGENDARY if she plays her ******* card rights

I mean, COADF 2.0 but with Kylie, Britney, Gaga feats etc?

Madge, put the ego aside. You could LITERALLY create pop culture history.

Totally agreed this could be absolutely legendary, but I'm hoping she stays away from any features this time. Give us your magnum opus, Madonna. An edgy dance album with introspective lyrics about her career and everything she's learned. Nothing overtly self referential (e.g., ***** I'm Madonna). Influences of all her past albums (90s house from Erotica, disco from Confessions, electronica from Ray of Light).

This could be such a cool ******* record if she really focuses and is up to the task. It would be groundbreaking if she has another Confessions-type of era left in her.

I'm so curious how she tours this album if and when it's released. I can't see her doing another type of Celebration Tour in the future, given how ambitious the biographical nature of it was. I also don't see her going down the farewell tour route. That's why I think there's credence to her doing Celebration Tour Part 2 next year...could see it being an abbreviated version of the show for the first 90 mins with it then ending with a 45-60 mins focus on the new music as part of the "future" section.

When you listen to what those two guys said about working with Madonna....

While Orbit wants to work with her again, he said he hated the recording process of MDNA.

As for Mirwais, he simply answers in an interview that he wasn't responsible of the choice of the autotune treatment. Plus he kinda posts something lately shading plastic surgery and autotune so.....

Didnt he admit he was abusing alcohol during MDNA?

I still love Some Girls, Love Spent, Gang Bang and Falling Free

Fans always say what you just said, but is it really that simple?

What about Bedtime Stories? Babyface and Dallas Austin were both huge when she worked with them. So was David Foster when she released Something to Remember. What trends was she chasing when she released ***** I'm Madonna or God Control and Batuka? Even I Don't Search I Find came out before the recent 90s house revival from Gaga/Beyonce/Ariana and more…

THANK YOU!

The way some of these ppl just don't get it is laughable

I'm starving for new material so I can't wait for this!

I'm not really a Confessions *** but I'm happy she might make some crowd-pleasing gay ountz ountz again.

god I'm so tired of this 'creating trends' discourse that's been running forever now.

Didn't Ray of Light, her most acclaimed album, came out already few years into trip-hop trend?

And what does 'creating trend' even mean? Everything in art is inspired by something.

Future Nostalgia is literally one of hundreds albums inspired by retro-pop and it was a smash. Why? Because it was that good. Didn't create any trend

She could literally do remixes to singles/songs or do a whole remix album with the features I mentioned. Again - would be a LEGENDARY move.

As long as her vocals aren't horribly produced, I'm here for a comeback! Love Kylie, but Madonna would've ATE this up

I'm predicting one of two things, Madonna will release some new songs/EP with the release of the biopic collaborating with all the rumoured/potential people - Max Martin, Sickick, Mike Dean, The Honey Dijon, Stuart Price and The Weeknd.

Or

She will release a new album which will features all those people in some capacity and (in a dream world) an original collaboration with Kylie Minogue.  I reckon Stuart will act as executive producer of the album with Madonna as well. In terms of genre, I'd expect a full on house album and for it to be released next year especially with it being 20 years since COAD next year.
