Will Katy Perry be dropped from her label?

Following two flops with a arguably the biggest bomb for a pop girl despite all the money and promo spent, lends the question about her future at her label. Will Capitol cut their losses?

I hope they drop her because Capitol records is a useless label.

That twitter thread is stan delusion bfrfr Capitol aren't sabotaging Katy.

They're most likely financially in the gutter though, so I doubt they'd be able to come up with a figure that satisfies Katy when it's time to renegotiate.

No, I was told by LMs, that Katy is their cash cow.

Stans are acting like Katy didn't have full creative control with Capitol. There's no record label sabotage. :rip:

and who's gonna hire the Dr Luke companion?

gags and lana won't let Interscope hire her,

taylor won't let Republic hire her,

atlantic is a sinking ship who can't even promote ava max,

maybe she can get on BMG to try and secure her padam as a legacy throwback act

Who else does Capitol even have shdjdj

also in cackling at that tweet, imagine getting 3 MVs pre album release, a VMA medley, an AFL performance but your label wants to get rid of you.. right !

We've seen « mpg » not even being able to debut their albums on the BB200 so there's just no reason for Perry to randomly get dropped. That's not how it works.

and posting random tweets of a self professed "professionally unhinged" Lady Gaga fan doesn't mean anything.

they were posting random tweets of a self professed professionally unhinged OGH kitkat, not a liddo hun

Yeah but the label probably spent $500 on that album. This has the roll out of a MPG yet barely beat 50 yo Jlo

Even in her flop era, Katy is by far their most successful female artist unless new Halsey album garners a hit or the album itself becomes successful like Bandaids

Gaga would definitely put in a good word with the CEO of Interscope for her blood cousin and fellow shipmate Katheryn.

+ Elizabeth will be too busy hunting alligators in the swamp with her husband anyways.

I fear Interscope might be Katheryn's new home

Katy will recoup the money with her tour anyways.

Artists don't make a lot of money with albums/singles. They need touring, merchandising, etc… and Katy's upcoming tour will undoubtedly make them earn a lot of money.

She might be flopping hard but she remains a prestigious name, a brand and very famous. There's just no reason to drop her, that's not how labels think.

Exactly my point, they don't even have her infamously "shelved" contract on lock anymore. They've got nobody left.

Delicious, would you like some ketchup with all that beef? God, a barbecue would be great at this moment.

katy's a global artist like gaga and madonna. it's too difficult to break this line, and she's the only that did it at capitol. I think dropping her is bad for capitol even with the flops
