єѕℓαм Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Anyone who call Lady Gaga a flop is delusional and jealous 1 1 1

You opened a thread and wrote an entire essay because other fanbases were making fun of your fave critically and comercially flopping with her most recent project!

I opened this thread because I saw several people dismiss her as unsuccessful because of a jazz album release and wanted to clarify if she really is (or not) but it seems like the same people who wrote her off did not even reply I also don't understand how six dot points count as an essay but I won't ask you to explain that..
JackOfHearts Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I think she's on too big of a roll atm to be a flop. She's in the perfect spot with the public to release a passion project of mostly jazz/theatrical covers. She's not treating it as a proper album, she put it out as like, a little treat to herself it feels like, cause she enjoys doing jazz and this kinda music so much. It's her first jazz release since Tony passed, and on that interview with Zane she mentioned how he'd probably never go for this kind of influence on his music, so it's her experimenting freely with a genre that's near and dear to her, in the optimal window before she unleashes her new pop era. I will say she seemed to kinda pull the rug out from some of us with the aesthetics of the album vs. the actual content tho. 1

Which as I said in my original reply is evidence of insecurity. Gaga like all artists will have highs and flops, which doesn't mean she is a flop as an artist. Liddos are always very happy to call others flops whenever they have a less successful project, so should be able to take the heat when their fave experiences the same.

How is it an evidence of insecurity when it was a question addressed to the entire site, and not just to those who called her names in the many threads made today? Seems like not everyone thinks the same You're once again bringing up fan bases and more specifically 'liddos' to benefit your argument but I'm not sure I see the point. Make it about me if you want; I have never posted one negative reply about any artist on this site.
Punky Rooster Posted September 28 Posted September 28 She is undeniably a solo flop, and has been for a long time now. When she collabs with a bigger name or a movie star, she gets a momentary win, but then it's back to flopping. But she is 40 now, so it's not surprising - not every pop star can have solo hits over the age of 40. 4 1 2 9
Xtina23 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Yes she is!! Most of her recent successes, have been due to collabs (Ariana, Bruno Mars, etc) there is a reason this is not making much buzz... 4
gab00 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 She isnt but please stop using iTunes as a metric of sucess. Only C-listers stans find consolation using those.

Lmao ARUTW alone probably outstreams the last three or four albums of xtina combined. That one was solo. Like what do you mean 1

Gaga's career is so wild that her ASIB - Shallow - Oscars run, which would've been immense for any other pop star, is a "mini peak" in comparison.

SweetOreosOfHeaven Posted September 28 Posted September 28 This is a niche project of traditional pop akin Love For Sale/C2C. We'll see how the cookie crumbles once LG7 era starts. Let's not forget she currently as one of the biggest smashes of the year (if not THE biggest).
Rihinvention Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I feel like she has all these random side quests that are purely about the art. Harlequin could sell 10 copies and she would be happy. This album was never about charts or results anyway.
