ChooseyLover Posted September 27 Posted September 27 (edited) Wow, is this the same forum that had a meltdown over Taylor Swift hugging a Republican? Y'all could have acted like mature people with common sense back then too. Edited September 27 by ChooseyLover 11 1
Solaria Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I sang this thread title in the same tune as 'will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful'
Venice B Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Went for a walk listening to her earlier today. She will always be that ***** no matter what

Punky Rooster Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I'll listen to her one hit if it comes on during a throwback playlist

She's her own person, you know? but I've seen you countless times go after other girls lives with a passion while saying their fans should be embarrassed to listen to them (not Katy just in case anyone thinks so) why is she or any other of the girls atrl thinks are "altpop" always given passes? They aren't as deep and complicated as u guys want them to be 1

Idk why it's so bad to acknowledge this woman is a conservative, her new husband is in a Confederate group like come on 3
Acuminatus Posted September 27 Posted September 27 It's interesting to see the energy in this thread as compared to the forum's usual punching bags.
Richie.Valdez Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Yes, I won't turn on the most talented female music act just because the good sis is enjoying good, wild, swampy D . Her next album will be filled with the most effed up songs
Relampago. Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I didn't really before but this has no impact on that, her music just isn't for me Like, if you're just now catching onto the fact Lana loves Republican-coded men when even I knew that as a non-fan then… idk what to tell you

I thought the Britney Maholmes thing was stupid but let's not act like Lana released a documentary where she cried about how queer people are treated and also released a "bad" song about queer rights… Taylor has been vocal about supporting LGBTQ people and made it a focus for an era too. Anyone shocked by Lana doing this is dumb, if Taylor did the same it would be like.. okay so did you mean what you said or? Travis seems pretty queer-friendly. He's not an advocate but if he ever came out saying being gay was objectively wrong and horrible then I'd personally be disappointed like I was with Matty. The same would go with girls like Gaga, Ariana, Miley, etc.
technoprayer Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Lana has ALWAYS given statements about being anti-Trump. Nothing will change this. She's still a legend. She's not her man.

She never publicized her personal relationships, either friendly or romantic so people don't bother with her personal life. 3

Honestly she didn't have to endorse any politician. Of course she was going to because that's what she always does but I think it was pretty stupid how people desperately demanded it. Personally I don't think anyone should be judged for their friends/relatives/partner's ideology. And caring so deeply about an artist's relationships is giving parasocial vibes. 6 minutes ago, Jay07 said: The difference is 1. that Lana has always told us who she is so no one is surprised at this and 2. Hasn't she publicly supported minorities and progressive views too?
Musicmajor Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I haven't enjoyed anything she has put out since Lust for Life. 1

Yes but Lana also did Question for the Culture and went out in a mesh mask in the middle of a pandemic, not to mention her infatuation with bad boys from the beginning. She has always been controversial and never presented a golden girl image. I agree that ultimately people shouldn't be judged for the actions of others but Lana has been dating problematic people forever so no one is surprised at this. 1
Phaunzie Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I have done my part of deleting her wretched discography from my Spotify, Apple Music and Itunes. I have also unsubscribed to her Youtube, to let her know I am disappointed. She chose to sleep with and marry a MAGA hat, racist, homo&transphobic conservative.

Taylor set herself up to be a model for those values, it's reasonable to expect she'd follow them in her personal life, even if people shouldn't care it's understandable why they would. Lana never gave any indication of the same, in fact we all know damn well she loves Republican men. So anyone acting shocked would just look dumb lol.
