apparently on a promo CD single of Baby Don't Lie but it hasnt surfaced yet

it used to have a listing on discogs but its not there anymore :(

I remember this, but I'm pretty sure that promo CD never actually existed and someone just made it up for clout or whatever.

It is real, but it's distribution never actually took place after they decided that they would release Start a War as it's own single. This was of course also scrapped.

Yeah, we're honestly overdue for Gwen's solo equivalent of No Doubt's Everything In Time compilation.

I hope she'll release them in a single album. I'm sure she'll get some hype

Agreed. The inclusion of Start A War alone would make everyone even remotely interested in Gwen Stefani run their mouth in anticipation.

Aside from Sparkle, they were all newly written for Push And Shove (the whole process was actually pretty well documented in their "webisodes"), but the band and especially Gwen herself have gone on record saying how much of a struggle it was and how frustrated they were oftentimes. That's also why there are no outtakes or anything like that; they only managed to write ten songs and they all ended up on the album, plus the reworked "old" song Sparkle. For the deluxe edition, they were only able to use a cover (Stand And Deliver) and some remixes and acoustic versions. Still, I think it's a great, very underrated album. It's aging very well to my ears.

Absolutely! I also really like the connection between it ("Who taught you how to love?") and Used To Love You ("I guess nobody taught you how to love") three years later.

This gets even better, when you know that this is actually a reference to a nasty comment Courtney Love once made about Gavin.

In an interview she claimed that she had an affair with Gavin saying: "But man, he was such an Adonis in his day! He got good in bed … something happened. Maybe Gwen taught him, for all I know."

Gotta love Gwen for always handeling the feud with Courtney so well and keeping it classy with throwing subtle shade.

I just called the 2014 album 'Baby Don't Lie' and the 2020 album 'Let me reintroduce myself' and used their single covers

I think it's actually called Are You Down?, but either way issa bawp.

It's crazy to me that we got more leaks in these two months than in, what, the 20 years before that? :rip:  Not complaining though, keep 'em coming! If there's a time for us to get the Holy Grail that is Start A War, it's now.
