Yawn Posted October 19 Posted October 19 i feel like the first half of the music video does such a disservice to the last half. how does it go from so boring and basic to so gaggy? lol i just hope people don't switch off before the part where it switches up because people absolutely need to see it (also the best bit of the song)
shark_heather Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Uf this is not doing well on AM , im trying not to panik though I hope she doesn't have the same fate with the other girls
Luckitty Posted October 19 Posted October 19 it's good but it's my least favorite so far 1. Midnight Cowboy 2. Angel Of My Dreams 3. Fantasy
bwhansen Posted October 19 Posted October 19 I'm not worried, if this doesn't properly smash she still has That's Showbiz Baby to get the gays back on her side and FUFN to grab the GP. 1
glitch Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Jade isn't in the same boat as the other girls as the goal was never mainstream commercial success. Angel of my dreams definitely did way better than anyone was expecting. I'm confident we'll still be getting the album early next year 7

This. And the timing of Release is now a bit unfortunate because of the tragedy regarding Liam. I think from general public listeners or those who would be interested there is a significant portion of ex 1D fans that rather focus on this and maybe listen to their music again more. Same goes for the media, radio etc. I want to make it clear that this is a tragedy and he may rest in piece and deserves all this respect but I really imagine this might be a factor for a possible underperformance. I would like to be taught the opposite tho. It is at least performing seemingly much better than Perries second and third single on AM so there is that. I hope this at least manages to debut top 30. Top 20 would be a dream. Top 40 the minimum I could ask for and anything below would be concerning
tbhmatt Posted October 19 Posted October 19 I understand and agree that we all want her singles to do well, so of course it's natural we're all going to be looking at the stats. But, I do think there's a bigger picture to look at here. Jade isn't just dropping singles in the hopes that something is going to stick, she's world building. It's about building an interest in the rest of her music and her as an artist, she's been very clever in the way she's been teasing and referencing other tracks. I think we will almost definitely still get the album even if this does "underperform" (FWIW I think she can easily get at least Top 20 which I would still deem a relative success) because it's clear that from the very beginning she's had a very clear plan in mind for the album concept and rollout. The music is too good and she's getting too much acclaim for the label to start "panicking" at this stage. There is really no need to worry, just enjoy the music! 4

I'm confident we'll still be getting the album early next year The fact AOMD is still in the UK top 100 while Perrie's Single dropped out after 1 week shows Jades goal of longevity worked. I think AOMD alone could carry an album. Albums are also easier to chart better than singles. People just need to chill and enjoy the music, the fact people are mentioning underperformance and the song has been out barely 24 hours 7

abra Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Jade said in an interview that David started commenting on her photos because he loved Angel Of My Dreams and when she saw it was actually him they started to chat and he invited her to his studio, so maybe it wasn't paid at all? Seeing as he did that for Megan and Ice.

I remember her saying years ago (during the Confetti era I think?) that she was a fan of his and wanted to work with him, so this must have been a big deal for her 1
ReneighIsHere Posted October 19 Posted October 19 she missed the top 200 on spotify 💔 damn why are they not giving the girls a chance after the first single?!
tbhmatt Posted October 19 Posted October 19 I'm genuinely a little gobsmacked it missed the Top 200 completely. I wasn't expecting huge numbers but I thought it would at least chart. Then again, I'm not sure how many people (outside of Jade's very small core fan base) knew this was being released? The AOMD teasers and Tik Tok sound was pushed a lot more in comparison, the Fantasy sound had like … 124 videos under it when the song dropped. There wasn't the same level of hype or interest I guess. That being said, I thought her profile would have risen enough from AOMD to at least crack the Top 200? So I'm a little surprised. This shows how essential Hot Hits UK is, nobody *really* checks NMF UK like that. You need Hot Hits UK to actually get a hit.
Yakult Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Morgan Wallen and Tesco Value Taylor Swift making the top 50 while JADE misses the top 200???? The GP remain tasteless one again. The song is incredible. JADE's vocals and the production are so dynamic. Can't wait to watch the Jools Holland performances when I get home tomorrow.
tbhmatt Posted October 19 Posted October 19 I will still be streaming though do not worry! She may not crack the Top 200 but she most certainly will debut on my On Repeat playlist 3
tbhmatt Posted October 19 Posted October 19 On a slightly more positive note, up to #89 on Apple Music (it was down at #104) this morning Hopefully the Jools performance, live lounge & radio airplay will help it on Spotify. 2

I think we need to remember her audience is largely the UK. Uk spotify numbers are tiny compared to countries like America. So really if your gonna care about numbers. The UK top 200 is what to focus on

The UK top 200 is what to focus on Assume that user is talking about the UK Top 50 as Morgan Wallen (#45) and I assume Gracie Abrams (#36) both have new entries in the Top 50 here 1
Revel Posted October 19 Posted October 19 I'm so shocked that she missed the entire top 200 on UK Spotify…
The Slayer Posted October 19 Posted October 19 (edited) I really have no desire to watch this video again, I just can't get over how boring it was and such a wasted opportunity. Anyone could have directed that, David should have been used for something much better than this. However, I do hope this song does well, it remains my least favourite of the three but I still like it. I'm looking forward to her performance tonight. Edited October 19 by The Slayer

Truth Teller Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Upsetting. But she won't give up. Her career was built on failures and not following the mold. She won't stop. She never has and never will. She still believes in this single. And she still will push. No matter what. 🙏 3
