I'm so sorry for asking a question I'm sure has been asked 100 times, but I've been busy at work. Do we know how many original songs are on it?

so far we can only confirm 3: Folie a Deux, Happy Mistake & The Joker. Everything else is presumably a cover

Gaga is new Selena Gomes with these albums. Gaga is counting EP like standalone record and Selena is acting like Stars Dance didn't happened :suburban:

Is this real? It reads like a fanfic written because the room had references to her past eras. They allegedly teased the album cover aesthetic but it could have been lucky guess based on the billboards?

Either way, I believe a self-referential MV could work really well at this point in her career unlike the 2013 VMAs performance which was a bit early.

Clocking in at 34 minutes it's more than justifiable to call TFM an album. I've heard albums that are 25-30 minutes.

Also Katy's 143 clocks in at the exact same length - 34 minutes.

How many are covers and how many are originals? Are the covers the same on the Joker OST?

It would be so cool if some of the covers (That's Entertainment, Smile) were done differently on this album. The snippets don't sound jazz so maybe you get the film versions on the Joker 2 soundtrack album but on this you get them in a different version. Why else would you put two albums with many of the same songs? The Gaga album will get more attention than the soundtrack.

was gonna say I hate self referential stuff unless its VERY well executed. The VMAs performance in 2013 was waaaaaayyy too early in her career to be doing that and it felt like she ran out of ideas or something. Now, 16 years in, it actually makes a lot of sense and I trust she will execute that concept meticulously especially with seemingly new ppl in her team it seems like

Well yeah technically that was very last minute after MTV didn't allow her to do what was initially planned, but although I loved her performance, it was too early indeed. She's had a lot of eras/looks to reference since ARTPOP so fingers crossed it's well executed (if real).

They definitely got lucky with the cover based on elements of what we could see on the billboards yesterday. At the same time it wouldn't surprise me if we got something in line with that - the vinyl alternative cover features a lot of elements related to Gaga's career in a very subtle way: Joanne Tour recording smashed, The Fame bra, a trumpet, letters to a young poet, the Perfect Illusion boots and some other things scattered on the floor.

What confirms that the Joker is a new song? There exists a classic/jazz song song with that name.

So is this the JFAD soundtrack or just "music inspired by..."?

it's absolutely insane to leave DWAS out of this album. Such a perfect opportunity (unless she's saving it for LG7 :bird:)

Also she lowkey looks like Hayley Williams on the cover :sistrens:

would be soooo iconic and i'd absolutely be so here for this if it is true :clap3: I agree with y'all about the Applause self-referential performance being a bit too soon, though I will laud her at the same time for making it iconic retrospectively and making it high quality for what it was

wikipedia is now categorizing it as a mixtape, which is smart and accurate (seemingly) imo :giraffe:

dd; now someone's just being silly :deadbanana4: it's definitely not a mixtape. ppl are making it more complicated than it needs to be. The Gift's wiki says this:

Quote

The Lion King: The Gift (often referred to as simply The Gift) is a soundtrack album created by American singer and songwriter Beyoncé

so they should just word is similarly for Harlequin. it's that easy.

I thought you were going to ask "why is Die With A Smile not on it" for a second :deadbanana4:

lollll fair :dies:  I think ppl are confused somehow by there being both a soundtrack album and THIS companion album so they're trying to get ahead of themselves by calling it a mixtape

lol just to clarify I wasn't calling you silly - I meant whoever updated wiki :dies: but yeah there are previous situations where a similar thing has happened with an OST and accompanying albums so idk why people don't just refer to those to see how they were classified. :cm:
