Oof, I very much disagree with this.  Taylor had a lot to say on TTPD, more than most of her albums.  And I don't think her fans wanted to hear things like "**** you creeps I don't care what you think stay out of my life" and "yes I am calculated and ruthless but you made me this way".

 

With Katy though, I agree.  I learned nothing new about Katy as a person or her life, and sadly the actual songs don't have good enough structure or production to make up for it.

I think a lot of the reason TTPD made me feel this way is it's just so bloated and most of the filler songs covered themes she'd already explored elsewhere in her discography, thus making it seem like "oh this is what AI would generate after listening to 1000 hours of Taylor Swift. If the album was just the 14 or so that I actually saved, it would've been a different story.
