Well, no.

They had to include 2 encore showings in order to inflate that number.

The most consumed artist in the US was indeed in attendance last night, and her name was Taylor Swift.

But kii at my comment about the percentage increase causing you to go on a rant about Taylor.

It's no rant, honey.

Two of the most consumed artists were in attendance AND performed which was clearly Sabrina and Chapelle. Doesn't mean Taylor isn't the most consumed but the other two are as well and they performed. Taylor was there last year and caused the increase. But another increase could very well be because of Sabrina and Chappell since they literally have become MPGs in the last few months and have accumulated millions of new fans. Last year, Taylor was the only huge name in attendance, now they had Sabrina and Chappell as well. And it's not like Deadline did a survey, they just added Taylor was the big winner. Sabrina and Chapelle added relevant star power to this year's telecast which could as well have boosted the ratings. But I forgot for you it's Taylor and Taylor only.

For "me", it was just about the 25% boost mentioned by the tweet and by me. It's you who's making this about Taylor. :cm:

Once again, if you have any issues with who Deadline is giving credit for (which was not what my own comment was focusing on), here you can contact them with your remarks: [email protected]

This doesn't mention Taylor. And it didn't rise 25%, it rose 8%. You chose the other one and linked it because it mentioned Taylor and that's how you wanted to spin it.

The original viewership itself, was down 30% from last year.

Knowing you I'm sure you think Nicki Minaj is the reason people watched and you're just saying this Megan was the host :sistrens:

It was a big year for pop with 2 breakout stars. Did anyone notable even perform last year?

Your obsession with Taylor is truly next level. What are these conspiracy theories about wanting to spin anything.

Once again, my comment had nothing to do with her. It was only about the percentage increase of a tweet that came across my TL and that's what I commented on, and those % are repeated in the article itself. There is only one person in this thread who started to talk about Taylor and it wasn't me. :cm:

You don't know me :sistrens:

And certainly no one knew miss Megan was even there that night, after she tended… no where.

The fact is, this is the way they achieved these numbers this year - & it still barely out viewed.

But hey, congrats to her on nabbing such massive exposure & a new Latin audience! Surely this has benefited her sales & chart positions?

Knowing you're always lying and spinning things to make Minaj look better even when she's dead wrong…

It didn't help Minaj when she performed her LEAD single that was out of the charts after 3 days and still didn't come back after the performance. So keep that failed shade. Delusional af to think Minaj brought any extra viewers….

anyways congrats mtv!!!! :clap3:

More lies.

Hosted by Megan Thee Stallion, Wednesday's awards show managed 3.11 million viewers during its premiere telecast across 13 networks, representing a 25% boost compared to last year, according to early Nielsen dataWhen including encore showings, the audience grew to 4.09M, up 8% from last year's 3.78M.

This thread was crediting Megan and your first comment on here was a tweet with Taylor's name splattered across it from Deadline that gave Taylor the credit for the increase. You know what you were doing and now spinning it into you innocently "just posting a tweet" is gaslighting at its finest.

Taylor was there last year and it did not have over 4 million. You gotta stop giving her credit for everything, especially since two of the most consumed artists right now (Sabrina and Chappell) were both in attendance and performed.

Overall though, music has been much better and more competitive (even if the lessers didn't get their no.1s) in 2024 than compared to 2023. Plus, there was the whole "will she or won't she announce rept tv" viewers unlike last year.

Yeah it's definitely a combination of all of those factors. If you took out Taylor you'd have lower ratings but if you took out Sabrina and Chappell you'd lose viewers as well.

Once again, if you have any issues with who Deadline is mentioning in their article, you can always contact them. I do not write for them nor did I even mention her name before you brought her up. You're assuming a comment praising the ratings increase % as mentioned by Deadline was some elaborate ruse, in which case you should probably not be giving out judgment about who's gaslighting whom here. :cm:

You're annoying. OP posted an article. There was no reason for you to post yet another but you did it because OP's original one didn't mention Taylor as the sole factor. Then in response to my comment you never once mentioned that it wasn't your intention to make this solely about Taylor but instead you only gave reasons as to why it is Taylor's doing that the ratings were that big. And then you started spinning it into something else because you were called out. So instead of denying it you should've said that was your initial reason.

I for one do not care because I give credit to all three. You claimed you did not give Taylor all the credit but you made a fool out of yourself because in your first comment to me you did exactly that - gave Taylor all the credit and discredited Sabrina and Chappell, quite literally. So congrats on saying one thing and doing another.
