Hosted by Megan Thee Stallion, the awards show managed 3.11M viewers during its premiere telecast across 13 networks, representing a 25% boost compared to last year, according to early Nielsen data. When including encore showings, the audience grew to 4.09M, up 8% from last year's 3.78M.

Taylor was there last year and it did not have over 4 million. You gotta stop giving her credit for everything, especially since two of the most consumed artists right now (Sabrina and Chappell) were both in attendance and performed.

They don't help themselves by putting it on a Wednesday evening when people have work the next day. It's almost like they don't want people to watch/are purposely trying to kill off the show.

Meg did a fine job hosting. She should do it another award show too.

 

Performances across the board were solid as well.

 

They need to stop hosting these shows on Wednesday or Tuesday. Monday or Thursday going forward.

For someone who didn't watch the show but only caught the performances, why are so many saying Meg did a terrible job hosting? 

 

Was it usual VMA mess where the host barely gets the mic, or did she actually do something wrong?

The most consumed artist in the US was indeed in attendance last night, and her name was Taylor Swift.
