I don't understand what the online fuss is about. For Taylor everything is about timing. I'm sure she had plans to endorse Kamala for president when the timing was right and there might've been a conversation with the campaign too. I think she needs to do at least one campaign event in Pennsylvania for them too.

So many celebrities are so afraid to make a stand. Is Taylor the first one of the big celebs who's dedicated a whole post to who's she'll be voting for? I've only seen some celebs re-posting stuff on their stories

Several artists have been touring globally and that didn't stop them from addressing the genocide. Hell, she couldn't even bother opening her purse or sharing a damn fundraiser in-between all the "buy version #113 of my new album <33" stories on Instagram. 

 

I stopped expecting her to say something about Palestine months ago, because she would have done it by now if she wanted to, or when she ignored the BDS calls to distance herself from Israel when her film was showing there. But the way some of you constantly find a new excuse for her silence is so infuriating.

We don't know if she does or doesn't donate to Palestinian relief. Like, we literally just don't know. And we are not entitled to know. If she decides to make that information public someday, all the power to her. In the meantime she has not taken a stance on either side, and that's her right as a citizen of the US to exercise her free speech and only speak on what she wants to. 
 

I'm not gonna waste my time begging billionaires to use their voices for positive change, I'm gonna use my own voice in the ways I choose to and uplift the voices of others that share my sentiments. If one day that happens to include Taylor, cool. If it never does, that's fine - nothing lost nothing gained. 
 

The Palestinian genocide is an extremely pressing issue. It is an urgent matter of human rights violations that needs to be solved sooner than later. Spending our time begging Elon Musk, Taylor Swift, Mark Zuckerberg, Beyonce, or Bill Gates to call for a ceasefire is time wasted when we could be demanding more from our legislators who can actually bring about change at the political level.
 

America needs to stop supplying Israel with funding and arms. We need to demand the president accelerate a ceasefire. We need to get the hostages home. And we need to restore Gaza & the Palestinian people's rights to self actualization. Taylor Swift ain't gonna do any of that for us and there's no use waiting for her to or whining about it not happening.

Most girls mentioned here (Beyonce, Taylor, Gaga, Olivia, Billie, etc) has positioned against Trump at least two election cycles ago, including Taylor herself. A lot of those singers made big noise when Roe vs Wade fell through too. Olivia has been wearing "VOTE!" tank tops while performing on GUTS tour and her name was dropped here twice. Billie has mobilized voters against Trump at least since 2020. Others have donated, licensed their music, etc Hardly every pop girl liked here is a Trumpster…

 

People were treating Taylor differently because it's fun to **** on her here for many users, since a hug was never indicative of anything political, unless she was hugging Trump on a rally or something. Starting a crusade against people that very obviously are against the orange man is truly NOT it…. 
 

Having said that: we need to go all in because polls are showing a tight race. So people everywhere in the US need to mobilize whoever they can for blue votes. Do not focus too much on celebrities. As good as it is when they use their platform, ground-level mobilization by real people is still the way to go
