The point of the endorsement isn't really to convince Republicans to switch side. People who rarely change their fundamental political opinions based on endorsements. It's more about mobilizing likely voters and giving them the motivation to vote. So in that sense, yes, Beyoncé actually speaking up could be useful. 

Fair, but even then it's painfully obvious where Beyonce stands and her use of the song and the generous donation are already helpful. I'm all for calling out other artists, but Beyonce is an odd pick in that mix to call out

 

Taylor also has a huge base of younger fans, many of whom are voting for the first time. When she was politically engaged in the last cycle she caused the biggest spike in voter registration before Kamala broke it, and since then she's gotten even more influential. It's okay to admit that no other celebrity endorsement will have even 1% of the impact that this one has, even if this doesn't change the course of the election
