The Music Industry Posted October 16 Posted October 16 4 hours ago, Doctor Dick said: Let me get this straight. Your statement is that Taylor's Eras movie grossing more in its first weekend domestically is super impressive and means there was more interest in seeing her in that movie when the international gross of JFAD is $113 million, more than the $80 million of the Eras tour film And don't suddenly change your narrative. By your logic, there's more interest in seeing Gaga for 30+ minutes in a panned movie than there is to see Taylor singing off-key outside of the US. So yeah, I actually do think it's the drag I thought it was. That's because the Eras Tour movie had a late release outside of North America. It came out in theatres weeks after it was already out in Canada and the US. There really wasn't a reason to go in theatres when you could just find it digitally at that point. It would've been a different story had it premiered at the same time globally like FAD 3

So yeah, I actually do think it's the drag I thought it was. The Eras Tour film grossed $262 million worldwide and its budget was only $15 million. This means it was a hugely profitable success. JFAD had a budget of $200 million; it will never recoup its initial cost, and is slated to lose a catastrophic $200 million. No amount of stanning makes Gaga win over Taylor in this scenario. 2 6

Doogle Posted October 16 Posted October 16 How are monsters coming for Taylor shdjdjd her movie only about her that was literally just a concert competing with one of the most iconic recognisable comic book characters of all time It makes Gar look even worse trying to compare. And I saw both in the cinema and Taylor was definitely better 1

Furiosa, a movie with huge action set pieces is not made for the masses, but a movie with jazz musical numbers and prison rape scenes is? Joker is one of the most popular characters in history of entertainment. It is made for masses. Just like ANY OTHER MOVIEBASED ON COMIC CHARACTERS. And just because something has action pieces doesn't make it 'made for masses'. Furiosa is not Transformers.
NoAngelus Posted October 16 Posted October 16 19 hours ago, ctlp27 said: What are you taking about? Furiosa with a +$160M budget is not made for the masses? Then for who? Not taking about quality but about big budget movie that miss their audience connection independently from their quality but maybe more on lack of interest from audience on said sequels. Furiosa's budget was affected by covid and expensive set pieces. Just like Fury Road, it was a passion project for a director that only got greenlighted because of the success at the Oscars. Joker was made for masses. Following 1b grossing movie. 1
