"Any estimates suggested by anonymous 'insiders' or 'rival executives' are grossly wrong and continues a trend where rumor is reported as fact," a Warner Bros. spokesperson said in a statement.

Imagine spending 25% of your budget on salary for 3 people. This deserved to flop for the greed of everyone involved :biblio:

I really feel bad for Gaga. Her great acting gone to waste and she is staring in a wrong movie.

Poor GaGa she should have picked a better movie and director

Not just worse than Cats, but more than twice as bad as Cats!

Sure but still about 2x more people were willing to watch Gaga sing than watch Taylor screech.

This really isn't the gag you think it is

1. Her performance (along with every other cast member's performances) were one of the few things that were praised about the movie. Even reviews that PANNED the film praised HER

2. The success or failure of a movie is not dependent on the cast. It is dependent on the WRITERS/DIRECTORS/PRODUCERS. Every lashing this film got was because of the plot and pacing.

3. All of Joaquin's last 3 movies before Folie a Deux were CRITICAL and COMMERCIAL bombs. All lost money — namely Napoleon, which lost over $165 million. He survived and will go on to continue securing prestigious roles, as will Gaga.

All you've done is confirm that stanwar'd forumdwellers have no clue how the film industry works. Sad!

Honestly this failure is kind of iconic. I'll give them that.

Then why was it labeled Gaga's Joker by her own fans back when it was announced?

you are on ATRL sis. when your fave is a part of a project that's successful, you say it's thanks to your fave.

when it tanks, you pretend your fave had no control over it.

Do you really think that's the drag you think it is? Especially when Taylor and her awkward struts, surprised faces and off key singing can blast through 93M on a single weekend at the box office. Something Gaga wishes she could do in that short amount of time.

Who is talking about Cate? You're the only one who brought her up.

and since YOU brought her up…

Borderlands

- $110m-$120m budget (not including promotional budget)

- $33m gross

- made back ~27% of its production budget (not including promo budget)

Folie a Deux

- $190m-$200m budget (not including promo budget)

- $165m gross

- made back ~86% of its budget (not including promo budget)

At the end of the day, both FAILURES are the responsibility of the writers and directors for making GARBAGE plot lines and character arcs. No matter how badly you want it to be otherwise. Stanwar brainrot really got you trying to convince yourself Cate and/or Gaga were making creative decisions on the sets of these movies.:ahh:

10,000+ posts but doesn't have the attention span to read 5 sentences? My condolences.

OT: Seems like FAILURE is something familiar to Joaquin, seeing as NAPOLEON lost a whopping $165 MILLION.

So you're telling me it's "worse" to lose 80M than losing 200M+ as long as the % is lower?

and FAD spent more than double on promo than Borderlands did. The numbers are out.

but since YOU say it's not relevant to the topic let's not get carried away.

WHO said it's irrelevant? No amount of hoops you jump through will change the reality that you have no idea how the film industry works.

Was the FAILURE of The Marvels Brie Larson's responsibility? Nope! Was the FAILURE of Napoleon (which resulted in a loss of $165 MILLION) Joaquin's responsibility? Nope! Was the NOSEDIVE of Aquaman 2 from Aquaman 1 Nicole Kidman's fault? Nope! :michael:
