If the movie fails, it won't be on Gaga. Her acting will be praised per usual.

Still, I think we need to stop relying on predictions to pinpoint quality or success. Watch the movie and see if you like it first. How it does commercially should be an afterthought. That's the problem these days!

Is there actually a chance they might edit in more Gaga scenes?
I thought she was gonna be the main character along with joker…

Joining the underperforming sequel to a billion dollar film club alongside Aquaman, Alice Through the Looking Glass, and The Marvels. That Mufasa movie will surely join this lineup as well. All of this just makes Avatar 2 even more impressive :clap3:.

Anything under a billion for the joker 2 is a flop pure and simple.

Pre-sales don't mean much, 120 million domestic debut still very much possible

It might not even hit half a billion if international numbers are also this bad. :dies:

If they didn't in 50 years, what makes you think they'll start now?

Joker: Folie à Deux in tracking looks similar to the first movie, strong with men over 25 (they showed up at 41% on part one). Unaided awareness is strongest with men over 25, followed men under 25 and women over 25. Presales are big in the cities now, I understand, which is provoking some exhibitors to forecast a $90M start. One rival marketing exec praises Warner Bros' campaign as "brilliant" as they're marketing the sequel like a Joker movie. No studio in their right mind this day and age markets a feature musical like a feature musical. I'm told when you have a movie musical, you gotta 'trick' moviegoers into going to see them.

Reminder about what Deadline said about The Marvels:
'The Marvels' Heading For $75M-$80M Opening

It opened to $47M.

I mean, you can't really compare two films that don't even have the same rating. For J2, Cinemascore and word-of-mouth would obviously make or break it. And that's before the promo blast, so far only trailers and the Venice premiere (which the general moviegoing public doesn't care about).

Who the hell pre-orders movie tickets? No wonder it's not looking good based on just that
