This movie needs to do at least 500M to break even.

I think it will do fine.

I mean these things are out of Gaga's control. As a fan I'm happy she delivered an amazing performance. I'm looking forward to seeing her dance, act and sing in the movie. It's the first time she'll be showcasing all her talents and I'm looking forward to streaming the soundtrack. I've missed her voice. Other than that I've learned not to dwell too much on it any further since HOG. The movie will be a great vehicle to launch her new single next month. Either way we're getting a first proper Gaga era since Joanne with promo for music and film for the first time. I'm all around positive.

Making this a "musical" was it's downfall, they really don't know their viewers it seems :rip:

Especially making it a musical and not utilizing Gaga fully, like what?

Honestly i dont understand why in Hollywood they show the movie to critics 2 months before... this is seriously not needed.. Honestly Fu"k the critics... why not Release it directly in theatres and let the audience decide. With mixed reviews, this kind of response is a bit panicking.

Why the title as if this is Gaga's film?

She did not direct the movie, she is not the lead character and critics praised her acting performance and complained she was under utilized. She will remain totally unscathed regardless of what happens with the movie

If it was a 2 Billion dollar smash, it would have been Gaga's film, let's not fool ourselves.

it'll be fine but it's no secret that the poor reviews dont come from the fear of what the movie could bring, but rather it just being boring; which certainly doesn't help the movie.

The director talking like a complete snob and not caring in the slightest about source material + them denying it as a musical when it clearly somewhat is, also doesn't help this movie

Yeah those indicators don't sound good... but I think momentum will build to opening week hopefully.

If it does flop, I think it's mostly because of the choice to make it a musical.  People don't like musicals in general, and the overlap between superhero movie fans (especially DARK superhero films like Joker) and musical fans is likely very small.  I know a lot of people who loved the first one but have no plans to see the second one because of this.
