Also A Bar Song was used by the country radio audience. That helped him a lot, Shaboozey is currently #1 on country radio, while Texas barely reached #33 there

 

However even Lil Nas got a nomination for Old Town Road and country radio didn't play him, so it seems like they have something against Beyoncé.

Honestly I haven't listened the whole album since the release day. I tried a couple of times, but it's a no no for me. Only 1-2 ok songs, there is no replay value, no hook, it sounds tired and uninspired.

Of course it didn't, this move makes then even more transparent. Cowboy Carter was created from because she felt excluded at this same award cerimony, by not nominating her they're just proving her feelings were 100% valid. They can choke.

Cowboy Carter exists because of the racism Beyoncé experienced at CMA. So celebrating that she wasn't nominated by them is very suspicious, to say the least

The album not being pure country is irrelevant when plenty of stuff that does well at the CMAs isn't pure country. Also yes Shaboozey got nominated but he's one of a very few black people who ever get nominated. A black woman is going to struggle more than a black man to be accepted in a racist space, especially one who has criticised that space in the past for being unwelcome. So if she did submit you can't just discount racism from this just because another black person overcame it. Let's not pretend the country scene isn't racist just because occasionally a minority artist gets a nod. The most nominated person this year literally has a history of racism.

They're sending a message to not just Beyonce but black people about our place in country music, Beyonce has the most talked about country leaning record of the year and one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed country influenced albums this year. The shut out is intentional but i know for a fact some of you are glad racism won today. 

 

Ya'll just want her humbled and rely on white institutions like the CMAs to do the work for you. 

 

Also i do hope this is a scenario where she just didn't submit because it's a very dim and defeating feeling knowing that you're being excluded from something because of your race.

I think you may have read my comment wrong, I'm defending Beyonce here. Anyone who says it's not country music is straight up delusional, especially when you consider how far mainstream country has strayed from its roots. Cowboy Carter sounds more country than anything I've ever heard from Kelsea Ballerini, Sam Hunt or Thomas Rhett and nobody questions any of their country-ness
