Anyway, there are over 70 million Trump voters floating around the US, you'd be hard pressed to be an American and leave your house without running into them on any given day. Being cordial with people you politically disagree with in public settings is basically step 1A in how to avoid civil war and I'm glad Taylor is doing her part ddd

Yes she has spoken out against him but she is three times as big now as she was five years ago. Every single move of Taylor's is insanely impactful and makes tons of headlines. I love Tay and she should be friends with whoever she wants to be friends with, but at the same time she should realize how impactful she is in regards to who she associates herself with.

From her post addressing the Vienna incident, I think she pretty much confirmed that for the immediate future (while she's on this massive tour), she's going to refrain from doing or speaking out about hot button topics that could provoke crazies out there to do anything that could harm her and/or her fans, crew, etc.  As wild as it sounds, she feels a responsibility for millions of people's safety at this point and it's just not worth it with recent events showing the evil present in the world.

The likelihood of her or people around her being attacked by a trump supporter just for endorsing kamala seems very unlikely.  I feel like someone who supports trump around her put that thought into her mind to stop her from endorsing

She's always been open about the fact that she remains quiet while touring so that her words don't incite nutjobs with guns to target her concerts. In 2018 she didn't post her endorsement until the day after the rep tour ended its US run and in 2020 she was free to endorse because she wasn't touring. It's entirely expected that she would refrain from political commentary while there's still another US leg of the tour—especially in the aftermath of what happened in Vienna and the UK. 

 

But I need her whole WAG era to end. This is the first time in her whole career that I've actually found her public persona and actions to be annoying.

Trump is responsible for a coup, Roe being overturned, trans people being persecuted and you know his Supreme court is coming for Obergefell. He is a danger to democracy and society and his supporters are either evil or at best, severely low information.

 

That said, what do you do in this circumstance? Pretend you don't see her? It would only be awkward and cause problems in team relations. You know how I feel about Taylor but right is right.

Funny that she loves to say how much of a feminist she is yet has been silent in speaking out against Trump when 2 women were running against him.

I'm quite sure we could find similar instances of any of those girls giving a cordial greeting to someone who was found at some point to support someone problematic.  Threads just aren't being made about it because it's truly not that deep.  Mature adults are cordial and polite in instances like this.

Eh, her tour was just recently almost attacked by terrorists/extremists.  I think that situation is enough to terrify anyone into just playing things safe while so many people's safety is under your responsibility.  You might not agree with it, but I don't see how that's not at least understandable.
